Trap Thoroughly Throughout The Season

Early and correct identification of pests is a key to determining the best strategy for further action. Monitoring for a pest has three stages: inspection, recording and identification. Important information is gathered during inspection and should be consistently recorded in order to gather all pertinent information about the pest. Over time, the gardener/farmer can develop an understanding of the relationship between environmental factors and the onset of a pest problem.

Select traps according to what and when you are trapping. Many Sticky Traps have a color attractant and there are numerous Pheromone and Scented Traps available commercially that attract and trap specific insects, so select the proper trap based upon your needs. Successful trapping and consistent monitoring will allow you to set Thresholds and take action prior to major damage occurring.
