Black Spot
Black spot is a fungus that produces black, round spots and most commonly is found on roses. Typically, it is identifiable by dark round or feathery marks found on the upper sides of leaves, this disease will spread higher up on the plant and the leaves will eventually fall off. Black spot commonly occurs in humid, moist climates during spring and summer seasons.
To avoid the spread of black spot, remove infected leaves as they appear. To prevent this disease from occurring in the first place, ensure your plants have enough nutrients with regular feedings and avoid getting the leaves of your plant wet when watering. Water the plant at its roots or use irrigation and water early in the day to ensure leaf areas are dry overnight. Another great way to prevent black spot is by using a fungicide, such as Arber® Bio Fungicide or Grower's Ally® Fungicide.
