BONIDE Rat Magic a combination of Cedarwood, Castor, Clove and Peppermint oils to effectively drive rats, chipmunks, squirrels and other rodents away from your home and yard. Most people find this blend of oils to be pleasantly fragrant, but it is anything but pleasant for rats. They cannot stand the smell; it triggers an escape/avoidance response in them and they quickly retreat to get away from it. BONIDE Rat Magic also works to mask the scent trails that critters follow.
This powerful repellent comes in two versions: Scent Packs and Granules. The Scent Packs are small bundles with the repellent granules inside made to be easy to use - simply remove them from their packaging and place them where they are needed most. Useful for hard-to-reach spots (behind appliances or in wall voids); just toss them in there. For attics, staple packs to rafters.
Rat Magic Granules are an excellent barrier and perimeter treatment. Meant to be used in larger/outside areas and indoor places like barns, sheds, garages and stables. It is NOT intended for use in home dwellings and indoor living areas.
BONIDE Rat Magic is biodegradable and will not harm your flowers, plants or lawns. It can be used where children and pets play.
For complete and effective rodent control, you need to develop and maintain good cultural practices such as sanitation and exclusion. In order to keep rodents out of structures and premises, keep entry points sealed. Keep all potential food sources (pet food, animal feed, bird food and table scraps) secured and inaccessible. If you have a severe infestation, you will need to clean that up before using BONIDE Rat Magic.

Suggested Uses:
Use to naturally drive away rats, squirrels, chipmunks and other rodents.
Scent Pack Use Instructions –
- Simply distribute the scent packs around any area where rodents hide, feed or congregate.
- Pay particular attention to areas around walls and other surfaces that may serve as runways, areas of potential entry and to potential nesting areas.
- Begin treatment with one scent pack per average sized room. Increase the number of packs as needed until desired results are achieved. Heavier infestations may require more scent packs.
- While this product contains natural essential oils and its odor is very pleasant, too many scent packs in a small area can be overpowering. Should this occur, simply reduce the number of packs used.
- After the rodents have left the indoor areas, keep them from returning by creating a perimeter/barrier with scent packs. Block all entry points and place packs at all entry points and around structure.
- To repel squirrels from bird feeders, scatter scent packs around the base of the feeder and at/on the feeder itself by stapling or hanging the pack with twist-tie, string or staples to the feeder.
Granules Use Instructions –
Perimeter/Barrier Treatment:
- Using the convenient dispenser cap on the package, lightly sprinkle a band 2 ft. wide next to and around the area you wish to protect. It is not necessary to completely cover the ground with the product.
- 1 lb. will treat a band 2 ft. wide by 100 ft. in length.
- If after 2 weeks no rodents have been observed, a broadcast/maintenance application may be made at the rate of 1 lb. per 200 sq. ft.
- Do not water in after application.
- For best results, reapply product after heavy rains or every 2 weeks.
Indoor Use:
- Lightly sprinkle around areas where rodents hide, feed or congregate in barns, sheds, garages and stables.
- NOT for use inside home dwellings or indoor living areas.
- Pay particular attention to areas around walls and other surfaces that may serve as runways, areas of potential entry and to potential nesting areas.
- Vacuum up and repeat application every 2 weeks or until infestation is eliminated.
- If loosely applied granules are undesirable, it is acceptable to sprinkle product on paper plates or in sachet made from old socks and place per above.
Chipmunks: Liberally sprinkle granules directly into and around as many holes and you can find to drive burrowing rodents from your property.
Environment: Use around homes, garages, ornamental gardens, sheds, patios, decks, wood piles, barns, stables, bird feeders, cellars and trash cans. NOTE: Rat Magic Granules are not for use inside home dwellings or indoor living spaces.
Storage: Store and transport in an upright position. Store only in original container, in a dry place inaccessible to children and pets. Do not reuse empty container. Discard empty container in trash.
