Down To Earth Bio-Live 5-4-2 is an OMRI listed certified organic fertilizer made from fish bone meal, fish meal, shrimp meal, crab meal, alfalfa meal, langbeinite and kelp meal. Bio-Live possesses a unique mixture of beneficial fungi and bacteria that help build a living system in your soil. Introducing these beneficial microorganisms aids your plants by providing additional disease resistance while also increasing nutrient and water absorption. In addition, the humic acid present in Bio-Live provides these mircroorganisms with a food source while they establish themselves. This combination of nutrient and microbial content makes Bio-Live a fantastic fertilizer for vegetable gardens, flower beds, container plantings, trees, shrubs, and vines.
Additional microbial inoculants like EM-1, RootShield and/or Root Build 240 can be used in combination with Bio-Live to increase microbial activity in the soil. By increasing microbial colonization in the root zones, plants absorb water and nutrients more efficiently leading to greater resistance to abiotic stress factors (heat, drought, etc.).
Vegetable Gardens & Flower Beds: To prepare for new gardens, apply 5 lbs of Bio-Live per 100 square feet and thoroughly mix into the top 3" of soil. For new transplants, add 1-2 tablespoons per hole. Mix into soil and water in well.
Containers: For new plantings, add 1/4-1/2 cup per gallon of soil and mix thoroughly or add 12.5-25 lbs per cubic yard. For established plants, mix 2-4 tablespoons per gallon of soil when transplanting.
Trees, Shrubs & Vines: For new plants, prepare transplant hole and mix 1-2 cups with the backfill soil. Use amended soil to fill in around the new plant and water in well.
