This beet, also known as Yellow Detroit, dates back to before the 1820's. These seeds will produce plants with green leaves and yellow stems and healthy yields of large round golden-orange roots. The leaves can be eaten raw when young and cooked as greens when mature. The beets will retain their sweetness when cooked and turn a deep yellow, without bleeding like red beets. They are also excellent pickled, grilled or sliced fresh.
Germination Temperature: 45° F and above.
Germination: 5 – 10 Days
Days to Maturity: 35 days for baby leaf tops; 55-60 days for edible roots.
Each package contains approximately 150 seeds.
