This spinach thrives in cool weather and will provide you with succulent leaves for much of the year. It's particularly well suited for sowing in early spring for late spring/early summer harvests, but it can also be planted in July and August to be enjoyed in the fall. It will even overwinter for that first-of-the-spring harvest. This savoyed spinach will grow to about 10-12" in height with a 4" spread and have tons of thick-textured, dark green, glossy leaves. The crinkly texture and of this spinach allows it to hold its shape longer (making it ideal for sautéing or wilting), while the earthy-yet-sweet taste is exceptional in any spinach dish. Bloomsdale Spinach can also be used as a substitute for kale, chard or collards. Certified Organic.
