AQUABAC 200G larvicide contains Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (Bti) - the best and most effective natural control for Mosquitoes, Fungus Gnats and Black Flies! Bti is a bacteria that specifically targets mosquitoes, fungus gnats and black flies in their larval stage, but is harmless to beneficial insects, wildlife, humans, pets or livestock.

How Aquabac Works:
Bti is eaten by the pest insect larva, killing them within 4-24 hours after ingestion. Since the bacteria are harmless to beneficial insects, the EPA has categorized the risk to non-target organisms as minimal to non-existent. This means use of Bti does not cause collateral damage to high use areas and leaves no chemical residue to contaminate the environment.

Bti can be used in any habitat that supports mosquito or black fly larvae including any standing water such as tree wells, tires, downspout puddles, rain barrels, bird baths, unused swimming pools and more! Additional commonly affected areas are below:

• Flood Water
• Roadside Ditches
• Rice Fields
• Pastures
• Woodland Pools
• Snowmelt Pools
• Tidal Water
• Salt Marshes
• Storm Water Retention Areas
• Catch Basins
• Golf Course Ponds
• Irrigation Ponds
• Ornamental & Landscape Ponds
• Water Gardens
• Green Houses
• Nurseries

Bti can be applied to almost any aquatic habitat without environmental impact concerns. It is important to note that AQUABAC 200G should not be used directly in water sources for human consumption.

How to Apply:
AQUABAC 200G Bti can be applied by hand broadcast or a hand spreader in smaller areas, or by standard ground or aerial dispersing methods for larger areas. Manufacturer recommends an interval of 7 to 14 days between applications.

Mosquito Control and West Nile Virus
Since the first reported cases of West Nile Virus appeared in New York in 1999, Farmers and Ranchers as well as State and Municipal agencies have searched for an effective and non-toxic solution to mosquito control. Bti has proven its effectiveness in mosquito control while ensuring the safety of the general public when used in recreational public areas such as golf courses and parks. The farming and ranching communities have discovered they can decrease mosquito and black fly populations without harming fish and beneficial insects and organisms in pastures and stock ponds, keeping their horses and livestock protected from mosquito borne diseases like West Nile Virus.
