The Multilure Trap is a reusable trapping system, designed for use with a lure, that is effective against fruit fly infestations. This durable plastic dome-shaped trap has an opening in the bottom that allows the insects to gain access to the inside of the dome and then to the lure site. Once inside the dome, they are unable to leave and will perish. Remove the dome and clean trap with soap and water as needed. Lures sold separately.
The Multilure trap design can utilize lures and attractants in both liquid or solid form. We currently have the following lures that are suitable for using with Multilure Traps: Mediterranean Fruit Fly, Oriental Fruit Fly and Melon Fly
- Traps have three parts: The yellow bottom, the dome, a cap for the lure site and a hanger.
- Suitable for use to control some of the most damaging pests in fruit and berry production.
- An essential tool for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices.
- The trap is approximately 350 ml capacity.

Baiting Multilure Traps with Cones:
- Remove the yellow cap from the bait well in the clear plastic upper- half of the Multilure trap.
- Open the polyseal foil bag that contains the cone.
- Place the cone into the bait well, using the packaging, gloves, or forceps to avoid touching the cone.
- Once the cone is in the well, replace the yellow lure cap on the bait well.
- Add fresh capture liquid to trap. The trap reservoir should be maintained with ~400 ml of capture liquid solution (a common mixure is water and Torula Yeast/Borax tablets)
- Once the cone and capture liquid has been added, attach a hanger to the trap and position where needed.
Never service a wet trap while it is still hanging in the tree.
