Peach Tree Borers, a native North American pest, are widespread across all US states, primarily affecting Stone fruit trees such as peach, cherry, plum, prune, nectarine, apricot, almond, and ornamental varieties. These borers utilize trees as their maternity wards, laying around 500-600 eggs at the bases or trunks. Upon hatching, the larvae bore into the bark or roots, feeding on inner tissues for about 28 days before emerging as adults, typically from April to September.
The Greater Peach Tree Borer, with one to two generations annually, deposits 400 to 900 eggs on the trunk's soil-line or at the base, primarily within the lower 6 inches of peach trunks. The hatched larvae tunnel into the trunk, large roots, or stems, feeding on live cambium and creating tunnels near the surface. This tunneling causes girdling and facilitates plant pathogen invasion, leading to oozing sap, reduced yield, branch dieback, and ultimately tree death if left untreated.
Detection and monitoring are crucial to prevent infestation escalation. While traps are helpful, they alone may not suffice for control. Maintaining tree health, removing leaf clutter, and employing other control methods for different life stages of the insect are recommended. Avoiding practices that disrupt native beneficial insects. Prevent sunscald, mechanical damage, or other injury to the trunk.
The Pest Wizard Greater Peach Tree Borer Moth Trap Kit attracts Synanthedon exitiosa for monitoring and reducing breeding adult populations in fruit trees. This trap combines color and pheromone attractants to lure moths, preventing them from mating once they come into contact with the sticky surface. Lures last for 30 days, and traps should be replaced when 70% full of insects or debris.

This Product Controls These Pests or Diseases: Greater Peach Tree Borer Moth (Synanthedon exitiosa)
NOTE: Always handle with clean hands or implements.
HOW TO USE:
- Deploy traps during the anticipated mating season to monitor for the presence of greater peach tree borer moths and to capture any males seeking a mate.
- Position the trap with lure at shoulder level in close proximity to vulnerable or impacted crops.
- Refresh the lure every 30 days during the season, and replace traps once they reach 70% saturation.
- Check each trap frequently.

Please refer to the manufacturer's label under the DOCS tab for illustrations of the above instructions.
HOW TO DEPLOY TRAPS:
- Hang traps with lures about 10 feet apart at shoulder height just inside foliage.
- Continue deployment into the fall for maximum trap captures of adults as they emerge throughout the season from their pupal stages in the soil.
- If an untended weedy area is nearby, hang a trap from a garden stake between the edge of the crop and the weeds.
- The lure is typically effective for about 30 days. When a trap becomes saturated before that time, remove the lure and attach it to a fresh trap. Repeat as necessary.
ATTENTION: Results may vary due to seasonal changes, insect pest population variations, natural predator populations, correct or incorrect trap installation, proper lure storage, weather extremes, disruption, damage and/or contamination due to chemical sprays, pets, children, sprinklers, or other unforeseen events.
- Keep MessyLess Adhesive card away from eyes and hair. Adhesive could stick to eyelashes and hair and pull them out.
- Dispose of plastic packaging in a proper trash receptacle - do not recycle.
- Adhesive cleans up with soap and water.
Storage: Keep lures sealed until used. Store in a cool place or in a freezer.
