OMRI Listed Nitron AZOMITE is a natural mineral soil amendment found in and mined from marine volcanic deposits in Utah. AZOMITE ("A to Z of Minerals Including Trace Elements") is a highly mineralized complex silica ore that is commonly used for remineralization of depleted soils. It has been used by gardeners and farmers as a micronutrient supplement for over 60 years. Known to improve plant growth and yields, AZOMITE contains over 70 metabolically active minerals and trace elements.
Nitron AZOMITE is micronized into a fine powder that is easily dissolved in water for application. AZOMITE can also be used dry when transplanting seedlings, shrubs, trees and when specific dosage rates are needed in the planting holes. Does not hamper water penetration or aeration.
Field Crops: Apply 50-200 lbs per acre depending upon soil quality. Applications in subsequent years can be smaller than the initial treatment.
Citrus/Fruit/Vine: Apply annually to all trees on ground surface under the drip line at 1-5 lbs depending on the size of trees. Double your application rate for stressed or blight stricken trees. For grapes, apply 1/2-1 lbs. to the soil around each plant and lightly till into the soil.
Flowers/Plants/Vegetables: When preparing the soil, use at a rate of 1 lb. per 10 square feet. For rows, mix into soil along the rows at 1 lb. per 25 feet of row. For established beds, sprinkle around each plant and water into soil. For houseplants, mix 1 teaspoon per 2 inch pot diameter with potting soil prior to planting. For roses, apply 1/2-1 lbs. to the soil around the plants and till in to the soil.
Lawn/Turf Care: For mature lawns, use 44 lbs per 12,000-15,000 square feet up to 4 times per year. New lawns require a heavier application rate and Azomite® should be tilled into the soil before planting seed or laying sod.
Ornamentals, Shrubs & Trees: For ornamentals and shrubs, apply 1/2-1 lbs. to soil around each plant and till soil. Apply once a year to all trees under the drip line. For trees, use the base diameter to determine application rate:
- <10": 1-5 lbs
- 10"-20": 5-15 lbs
- >20": 15-40 lbs
