MegaPhos SP is an organic, water-soluble powder that uses the unique beneficial bacteria Bacillus megaterium HM87 to solubilize phosphorus in the soil and make it available to plants. Phosphorus is an essential macronutrient for crop production, but often it is bound up in the soil and not accessible for plant uptake. The solution for this has historically been the use of phosphate fertilizers, but the phosphate in these types of products is quickly immobilized. This means more frequent applications are necessary and the danger of leaching into the ground (and the environmental concerns therein) grows. MegaPhos offers a safe and environmentally friendly solution by introducing an endospore-forming beneficial bacterium that colonizes the root zone and produces enzymes that naturally solubilize phosphorus. Additionally, this bacillus will produce metabolites that spur root production, plant growth and yield.
