Soil Mender® Lava Sand

A multi-use porous soil additive with volcanic properties.

Made from the ground scoria of red lava, this rock powder retains the essence of the lava. Its porous nature improves the texture of clay, and other, dense soils. Soil Mender Lava Sand also helps regulate and retain the correct amount of water held in the soil.

Contains latent paramagnetic qualities rom the volcanic activity that formed the lava. This paramagnetism will add a charge to your soil that stimulates microbial activity, helps with nutrient availability and improves plant vigor.
Adds structure to the soil, which increases its durability, improves its water retention, and helps it resist degradation.
Improves aeration and porosity of the soil.
Excellent choice for cacti and succulents in gardens and/or containers.
Can be used as a top dress on container plantings, bedding plants and lawns.

Use Soil Mender Lava Sand can be added to any potting or planting soil.

DIRECTIONS:

Can be used on vegetables, flowers and houseplants, sprinkled around shrubs and trees, or used to enrich compost.

For vegetables and flowers, apply at a rate of 1 lb. per 100 sq. ft.
Apply 3 times per growing season. (li> Rate may be doubled in the fall for winter hardiness (2 lbs per 100 sq. ft.)

Storage: Store in original container. Store in a dry location.

I collect rare succulents and cacti, and I use Soil Mender Lava Sand as both a soil component and decorative topping. It's attractive and adds micromineral supplements to my planting mixes over time.
