Guarda is a highly effective EPA-registered thyme oil fungicide/bactericide. The active ingredient in thyme oil is thymol, which volatizes in the environment. This can cause thyme-based products to quickly become ineffective, but Guarda solves that problem. It's powered by a proprietary stabilization method, HOLDit® Technology, that reduces the volatility of the thymol and maintains its contact with the target disease organisms to maximize efficacy of the application.
Thyme oil is a potent antifungal and antibacterial that controls plant pathogens through multiple modes of action: cell wall destruction, telomerase inhibition, and cell membrane damage leading to loss of cytoplasmic content and ergosterol depletion. The control that Guarda offers is not systemic but does provide some translaminar protection.
Plants that are not stressed by disease can produce greater yields of high-quality crops. Additional advantages of Guards include:

Use Instructions:
- Guarda can be applied in the following ways: chemigation (all types), pre-plant dip, soil drench, shanked-in or soil injection, in-furrow spray.
- Use the manufacturer's label under the DOCS tab to find specific information on diseases controlled and use rates for specific crops.
- Guarda can be used as a curative application when disease is evident but, when conditions favor development of bacterial or fungal disease, a preventative application is recommended. When applied prior to disease infestation it will protect the growing leaf tissue.
- Use higher water volumes with larger sized crops and extensive foliage to ensure thorough coverage.
Chemigation - Apply 1 gallon per acre. Please refer to the manufacturers label under the DOC tab for thorough instructions on all sorts of chemigation.
Pre-Plant Dip - Apply at 32-64 ounces (1-2 quarts) product per 10 gallons of water as a pre-plant dip immediately prior to transplanting, unless specified differently in the SELECTED CROPS section of the label.
Soil Drench - Apply at a concentration of 4 gallons per 100 gallons of water, and at a sufficient rate to thoroughly soak the growing media and root zone. Make an initial application of during or shortly after transplant to reduce transplant shock, suppress soil-borne diseases and improve root growth. Multiple drench applications can be made on a 10 -14 day interval.
Shanked In or Injected - Can be shanked-in or injected into the soil alone, or with most types of liquid nutrients.
In-Furrow: At planting, apply as an in-furrow spray at the rate of 1 gallon per acre or 8.8 fluid ounces per 1000 feet of row according to the chart below. Apply Guarda in 5-15 gallons of water so that the spray is directed into the seed furrow just before the seeds are covered.
- The use rate for Guarda applied alone, tank mixed, or as an alternate spray is 1 gallon per 29-159 gallons of water (0.625%-3.3% v/v dilution of Guarda) applied at a spray volume of 15-100 gallons per acre.
- For greenhouse application on the crops and diseases listed, the use rate for Guarda applied alone, tank mixed, or as an alternate spray is 1 gallon in 29-119 gallons of water (0.833%-3.3% v/v dilution of Guarda) sprayed until just before point of runoff. Repeat at 7-14 day intervals as needed.

Environment: For terrestrial uses: Do not apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwater or rinsate.
Storage: Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal. Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid freezing.
