Olson's Biting Fly Trap attracts biting flies, stable flies, black flies, and bottle flies.

Dr. D.E. Williams of the USDA discovered that biting flies are attracted to sunlight as it shines through a particular translucence of fiberglass. Olson has designed this cylindrical fiberglass trap to attract biting flies from a wide area in pastures, fields and near stalls. Coated with a clear adhesive, biting flies cannot escape once they have landed.

Suggested Uses: Place anywhere biting flies are a problem - stables, kennels, zoos, compost piles, backyards, swimming pools, golf courses and beaches.

Simply drive the wooden stake into the ground and place the fiberglass cylinder on the stake. Biting flies will be attracted to the cylinder and stick to the adhesive coating.

What's In The Package: 1 fiberglass cylinder, 1 wooden stake, 2 brass fasteners, 2 giant paperclips, 1 sticky sleeve, 1 replacement sleeve and complete instructions.

I have no idea about the comments on this being hard to set up? Took maybe 2 minutes and I'm impressed. I cannot believe how many flies this caught in just a few hours. It's basically out of sticky surface after 3 days. Will be buying many replacement sticky pads !

Terrible design. Using useless paper clips to hold sticky paper to cylinder does not work. I wasted 2 sticky papers because the paper clips did not secure the paper to the cylinder as I un-wrapped it. Both stuck to my picnic table rendering them useless. In the future I suggest you try out products yourself before sending them out to your customers.

I purchased this and used it exactly as instructed, in a sunny location. It did not catch a single fly. I then used a different fly trap in the exact same location and caught many flies. I would NOT recommend this product.

Many things caught but not Biting Flies

I loved the concept, but I found this trap very frustrating to put together. It caught many kinds of bugs on the sticky surface, but only 2 flies. The morning after I put it out, I found two large areas of fledgling bluebird feathers stuck to it. This made me very sad. For 2 previous 2 weeks, the parents had been buzzing me for when I got near their nest. Now, on the day they fledged, I had accidentally put the tiny birds in harms way. I have not seen a dead bird nearby, so I am hopeful it survived. Bottom line, be very careful with the sticky surface while constructing the trap, and in placement of it.

OK not great for flies

It took a bit to catch much of anything. I have 3 in different place and located them as indicated per instructions. They show tons of flies but a stinky fly bag catches many more than these too. It's got a variety of bugs on it but not as many flies as I was going for.

These would be really great fly traps if they were a little stickier. They caught a lot of fly and attracted them fast, but about a quarter of the flies were able to get off the trap.

I'm so disappointed and feel like I got ripped off . Wish I read reviews first ! My trap is right in sun by my pool and has caught 1 fly in 2 days . I can see them ignore it .

Sticky Mess

Sorry but these are horrible to work with. I thought the sticky would be on the inside of the circle not the outside. It was impossible to get the stuff attached without it also getting all over me. It would perhaps be easier with two people, one to manage the fly paper and one to manage the plastic. I would not recommend at all.
