Hoplite is a fast-acting liverwort, moss, algae, and lichen control agent formulated from potassium salts of fatty acids. The active ingredient disrupts the lipid-protein matrix of cellular membranes in target organisms. This disruption causes membrane leakage, rapid desiccation, and cell death, with affected moss and algae yellowing and browning soon after application. Hoplite is a non-staining and biodegradable
formulation, with no metal salts and no alcohol.
- Visible results (browning/yellowing) within 48 to 72 hours after treatment
- Low environmental impact due to biodegradable chemistry

This Product Controls These Pests or Diseases: Mosses, Algae, Lichens, Liverworts, Mold*, and Mildew*.
*Not including species considered public health pests
APPLICATION NOTES:
- Coverage driven product --thoroughly soak liverworts, mosses, algae, and lichens with solution.
- If moss is dry and cold, pre wetting improves results.
- Faster results occur when temps are mild and surfaces stay wet long enough for the fatty acid solution to work.
- When temperatures drop below ~50°F (10°C), moss and algae become less metabolically active, slowing uptake and reducing visible speed of kill.
- Warmer conditions (50-80°F) improve spread, penetration, and drying, which increases performance.
APPLICATION RATES:
CULTIVATED AREAS:
- Dilute concentrate by mixing 6.8 fl. oz in 1 gallon water per 1,000 square ft.
- For thick moss (greater than 1 inch), use up to 50 gallons per 1,000 square ft.
- Re-apply every 2 weeks or as required.
HARD SURFACES:
- Dilute concentrate by mixing 8 - 13 fl. oz in 1 gallon water. Apply 8 - 12 gallons per 1,000 square ft.
- For thick moss (greater than 1 inch), use up to 25 gallons per 1,000 square ft.
- Repeat treatment annually, or when new mold, mildew, moss, algae, lichens or liverworts are visible
