OMRI Listed BioCeres WP is a Beauveria bassiana-based mycoinsecticide for control of soft-bodied insects in organic production. It works in several steps to neutralize pest insects: Upon application, the B. bassiana spores adhere to the target insect's outer shell (cuticle) and begin the infection process. At this point, you may notice insects with a whitish appearance. Once the spores have breached the protective barrier of the cuticle, they continue to multiply until they reach the insect's hemolyph (blood), which they begin feeding on. Death occurs 7 to 14 days after infection. BioCeres WP is also effective on insects during diapause.
Benefits of BioCeres WP:
- OMRI Listed in the United States, EcoCert certified in Canada.
- Labelled for a wide variety of crops, both edibles and ornamentals.
- 4-hour REI, 0-hour PHI
- No phytotoxicity detected in numerous evaluated crops.
- Fully compatible with IPM programs.
- Apply as a stand-alone product or in a tank mix with other pesticides.
Suggested Uses: For use as a contact biological insecticide in the control or suppression of many foliar-feeding pests.
For best results, apply before pest infestation becomes severe and be sure to cover all sides on infected plants thoroughly. BioCeres WP must be added to water and applied as a foliar spray. Ground or aerial equipment, conventional insecticide spraying or chemigation may be used.
Many years ago, BioCeres WP began as the brainchild of Siliva Todorova, at the time a Ph.D. student of Biology and Environmental Studies. She dreamed of creating a biopesticide derived from a Beauvaria bassiana strain native to Quebec. In time, the Beauvaria bassiana, strain ANT-03 was isolated from an infected plant bug (Lygus lineolaris) in Montreal and was proven to be the ideal choice for the main ingredient in what would become BioCeres WP. Research and development began in 2005 and the first batch was released in Canada in 2014. Two years later, BioSafe Systems introduced this innovative product to the American market.

This Product Controls These Pests or Diseases: Aphids (Aphidoidea), Whiteflies (Aleyrodoidea), Thrips (Thysanoptera), Plant Bugs (Lygus lineolaris), Spotted Wing Drosophila (Drosophila suzukii), Borers, Beetles and Weevils.
Application Rate: Repeat at 5-7 day intervals as needed. Apply 1-3 lbs. per acre, according to the density of the insect population. For conventional group applications, use at least 50 gallons of spray volume per acre. Thoroughly cover plant foliage with spray solution, but not to runoff. Pre-harvest interval (PHI) = 0 days. For crop specific application rates, please use the product label for best application recommendations.
Close scouting and early attention to infestations is highly recommended. Proper timing of application targeting newly hatched larvae is important for optimal results. Thorough coverage of infested plant parts is necessary for effective control, but do not spray to runoff. Bioceres WP does not have systemic activity.
- For some crops, directed drop nozzles by ground machine are required.
- Under heavy pest populations, use the stated higher label rates, shorten the spray interval and/or increase the spray volume to improve coverage. Repeat applications at an interval sufficient to maintain control, usually 3-10 days depending upon plant growth rate, insect activity and other factors.
- If attempting to control an insect population with a single application, make the treatment when eggs start hatching but before economic damage occurs.
To enhance control, tank mix with contact insecticides/miticides/nematicides. Use the lower label rates of BioCeres WP when populations are low and when tank-mixing with other insecticides/miticides/nematicides. Use the stated higher rates when applied stand-alone, when populations are high or when egg numbers are high. Do not apply fungicides within 4 days of applying BioCeres WP.
BioCeres WP has been evaluated for phototoxicity on a variety of crops under various normal growing conditions. However, testing all crop varieties and all mixtures and combinations is not feasible. For this reason, test a small portion of the crop for sensitivity before treating the entire crop.
This pesticide should only be applied when the potential for drift to adjacent sensitive areas (e.g. residential areas, bodies of water, known habit for threatened or endangered species, non-target crops) is minimal (e.g. when wind is blowing away from the sensitive areas). Do not allow spray to drift from the application site and contact people, structures people occupy at any time and the associated property, parks and recreation areas, non-target crops, blooming crops or weeds that bees are visiting, aquatic and wetland areas, woodlands, pastures, rangelands or animals.
Environment: For terrestrial uses on. Can be applied to hay and other forage crops, row crops, berries, cereal grains, citrus fruits, cotton, greenhouse vegetables and ornamentals, herbs and spices, hops and dried cones, oilseed crops, root and tuber vegetables, pome fruits, shade and ornamental trees, stone fruits, nuts, tropical and subtropical fruits, ornamentals in parks and landscapes and turfgrasses.
Storage: Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage and disposal. Store in original container in a cool, dry place. Store within a temperature range of 45-85°F to avoid overheating.

Warning & Toxicities: Keep out of the reach of children. Causes moderate eye irritation. Harmful if inhaled or swallowed. Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. Avoid breathing dust or spray mist. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
Environmental Hazards: For terrestrial uses. This product may harm beneficial insects and honey bees. Do not apply while bees or other pollinating insects are actively foraging. This product may be harmful to aquatic organisms. Drift and runoff may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in water adjacent to treated areas. Do not apply within 50 feet of aquatic habitats (such as, but not limited to, lakes, reservoirs, rivers, streams, marshes, ponds, estuaries and commercial fish ponds). Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwater or rinsate.
Shelf Life: May be stored up to 12 months at 40°F or 6 months at 70°F. If storage conditions are not respected (time and temperature), germination and efficacy can be affected.
