Save money on post-emergent herbicides by using WeedGuard Plus. Designed for use in hoop houses and high tunnels, WeedGuard Plus Organic Standard Weight rolls are 100% biodegradable meaning they will decompose after the growing season. It is made from specially engineered cellulose fiber (a paper-like material) that contains a FDA approved wet-strength component so it can withstand heavy rains.

How Does It Work?

WeedGuardPlus is 100% opaque, so weeds can't get light and therefore can't grow. By allowing germination, but no further growth, the weeds are eliminated before ever taking root. Apply pre-emergent herbicides prior to laying WeedGuard Plus for best early season control.

Suggested Use: For preventive weed control in hoop houses and high tunnels. Simply place over growing areas where weed management is desired.

Put WeedGuardPlus in place before you plant transplants or seedlings, or before you sow seeds. Simply prepare the ground, place WeedGuardPlus over the soil, and cover the edges with dirt. If you wish to use WeedGuard Plus in a smaller area or for container gardening, it can be cut with scissors to conform to the area. You can custom fit it to any layout.

TIP: Spring can be a windy time of year so be sure to cover the edge of the WeedGuardPlus with 2" of soil extending at least 5-6 inches from the edge to hold it in place. Sprinkle it with water to help it conform to the soil bed. Either sow seeds in between the strips or create holes in the paper to sow your seeds or plant your seedlings.

Seems to be doing the job. Easy to work with, nice plum color so hides pretty quickly. Good product.

I used on a community garden plot that was all thistles last year; the thistles came up through a heavy layer of hay, a two inch layer of composted manure, and was pushing the paper which was weighted with more hay. I think the thistles are too strong. Also the paper rotted quickly under the hay. I have since put down heavy cardboard.

Large garden? I recommend.....

There is never enough time and energy to weed every row in our garden -whether spring, summer, or winter gardening. I highly recommend this weed guard paper. It's easy to install with two people. Every season I order about 16-rolls (8-pkg) and it is well worth the cost.

Can I use it for a organic vegetable garden??

Owner Response: Yes you can! The WeedGuard is not treated with any chemicals and should help prevent weeds from growing after germination.
