Description

Combo Packs include both NemAttack™ and NemaSeek™ Nematodes.

NemaSeek Hb (Heterorhabditis bacteriophora) Beneficial Nematodes seek out stationary pests including: Japanese beetles, grubs, root weevils, queen ants and more.

NemAttack Sc (Steinernema carpocapsae) Beneficial Nematodes attack mobile pests including: flea larvae/pupae, cutworm, sod webworm, and more.

Beneficial Nematodes are live microscopic organisms (non-segmented round worms) that occur naturally in soil throughout the world. The beneficial nematodes we sell are parasitic to insect pests that typically have a developing (larval or pupal) stage of life in the soil. They have been known to parasitize above ground stages of adults, nymphs and larvae. They will not harm mammals, aquatic life, birds, reptiles or amphibians. After being applied to the soil, the nematodes locate pests and enter through various body openings or directly through the body wall. Once inside, the nematodes produce bacteria that is injected into the pest's blood.

Beneficial Nematodes release the bacteria in order to create food and a hospitable environment for their own reproduction. As the food resources within the dead pest become scarce, the nematodes exit and immediately begin searching for a new host. As long as there is a suitable host, they will continue to survive and parasitize.

Shelf Life: 14 days after delivery (refrigerated and unopened in original container). Once opened, use entire container within the same day.

Instructions

If you are a first time user of beneficial nematodes, please follow the illustrated application instructions for use with a hose end sprayer. If you have questions, please call us at 1-800-827-2847.

For most applications, beneficial nematodes should be mixed with water and sprayed directly into the soil. Hose-end sprayers and pump sprayers work best, but nematodes can also be applied with a watering can, through irrigation and fertigation systems, into certain hydroponics media, and by syringe injection.

What's The Application Rate?

The exact mix rate varies based on the type of sprayer used and the user's speed of movement through the area. The key is to spread the nematode solution as evenly as possible over the full area being treated. We recommend spraying down the area with just water using the sprayer for application to determine roughly how many tanks will be needed for full coverage.

When Should They Be Applied?

  • Apply when soil temperatures are above 42°F.
  • Apply early in the morning or predusk when temperatures are cooler and the sun is not so bright.

It is best to make at least two applications, separated by 7-10 days to stagger the life cycles of the nematodes and ensure complete coverage. In cases of severe infestations, applications should be made every 7-10 days or until infestation subsides.

Can I Keep Nematodes In Water Until I Apply Them?

Only mix up what you are going to apply at that time. While some nematodes are aquatic, insect-parasitic nematodes are not. Do not leave the nematode/water mixture sitting for more than 2 hours as death can occur. Please call us at 1-800-827-2847 if you have questions about using nematodes in hydroponic environments. For best results, always apply beneficial nematodes as soon as possible after mixing.

How Long Can Nematodes Be Kept Before Use?

Beneficial Nematodes should be used as soon as possible. Because they are living organisms it is best to store them unopened for no longer than 2 weeks in a refrigerator. DO NOT FREEZE. Once opened, use entire container within the same day.

Should The Soil Be Moist After The Nematode Application?

The soil should be moist at time of application and lightly watered immediately after application. After application, check the application area regularly and water as needed to maintain soil moisture. Generally speaking, water every 3-4 days if rainfall does not occur.

How Long Does It Take To See Results?

After application, the nematodes locate pests and enter the pests through body openings or through the body wall. This may take 7-10 days. Once inside, the nematodes inject bacteria that kill the pest insect within 48-72 hours by causing blood poisoning. Maximum control occurs over 2-4 weeks.

How Often Should Nematodes Be Applied?

Nematodes are recommended for use whenever larvae or grubs are present. Generally, this is during the spring and fall months. Because larvae feed on plant roots, beneath the soil surface, severe damage can be done before realizing there is a problem. Look for signs of an adult insect, such as leaf-notching. If adult insects are present, their eggs will be hatching soon. Keep in mind, one application may not eradicate a population of insects that has become established over a period of years.

Will Nematodes Live Through The Winter?

In general, harsh winter weather in most parts of the country guarantees a significant decline in the population of the nematodes. In most cases, nematodes (just like insects) will become dormant during cold weather. Any survivors would be few in number to provide adequate insect control. If your insect pest returns the following year, another application may be necessary.

When Nematodes Are Applied To One Area Will They Move To Other Areas?

Nematodes are microscopic in size and have limited range of horizontal movement. They move vertically into the soil until they find a pest to infect. As a result, thorough coverage of the area is important for achieving control.

No Joke
May 22, 2022  |  By Steve Easton
I have run an animal rescue for 17 years. Every year I have treated the grounds with Arbico products for Fleas and Ticks. Here in the mid south it is a big problem. Arbico nematodes have never failed, and any problems or questions were easily addressed by Arbico people. Highly recommended.

So glad I found these
May 17, 2022  |  By Rebekah
Anytime I've used nematodes, my flea/tick populations seem almost nonexistent. I bought a year's worth of Advantage flea drops last year & still have most of it left. I hate to think they might be killing my caterpillars, but I'd rather not contract Lyme or Alpha-gal syndrome from cutting the grass (happened to my son the first year we moved here).

Grub Free Yard
Apr 21, 2022  |  By Debra Yarbrough
We sprayed our yard with beneficial nematodes from grub infestation, fleas, ants termites, and cut worms. After 2 weeks we started noticing a difference in our yard. We were looking for alternative pest control due to having 4 curious little dog, toads, lizards, and geckos who have a home in our yard and we did not want to harm them.

Like the beneficial nematodes
Apr 8, 2022  |  By Paul Boruff
This year when the ground temp got to the 40's I put out the nemattack and the nemaseek beneficial nematodes. 2 weeks later as I was transplanting into the treated soil, I found dead grubs- what a beautiful sight! I did find some live grubs, which I would attribute to the fact the garden still had collards and kale still growing.on it. So I may not have been able to cover the ground with beneficial nematode mix. I would definitely use this product again, except I would apply it only on bare ground.

Fleas don't stand a chance!
Apr 7, 2022  |  By Cyn Ross
These little worms are powerful and hungry. We had a pretty significant flea problem at our new house (previous tenants had seven dogs and have no treatment.) my husband used both packs with a pack back sprayer (it's a 4 gallon and he made 4 trips outside with the smaller package of these bad boys.) within 12 hours our dog was scratching less and we could actually walk around in our yard without being eaten alive. I will admit I need to do at least one more treatment because it was a significant infestation but if you follow the directions it works quickly. I havent seen any ticks at all since we sprayed! Also, I was able to keep the worms in their package in my basement for about 4 days before I used them and they were fine. My basement is pretty cool and I couldn't deal with the idea of putting them in my fridge with my food lol. Good luck out there!
Owner Response: To treat fleas, we recommend at least 2 annual applications, spring and fall to combat any new ones that may have migrated into your yard on other animals or from visits elsewhere.

Works Great

I apply with a hose end sprayer. I am in Florida so I try to time it with some rain in the forecast to help keep the nematodes moist. I've been using for 4 years now.

NO FLEAS
Jun 2, 2020  |  By Julie Geesing
we treated our yard last fall as well as this summer with nematodes along with using RX for Fleas in doors. So far no fleas and other neighbors commenting how bad fleas are this year. We also DO NOT use chemical flea killers on dog. Thankfully this seems to be working. Very easy to use. Make sure to follow instructions.

Found a system that works!
May 29, 2020  |  By Susan Miller
It took a year to find something that works. After moving into a new house, our poor baby was covered in fleas constantly. We tried a number of options, but finally have had success. Now, it's hard to say something is working when you can't actually see it. We've completed two applications of NeemAttack and NeemSeek and there are definitely fewer fleas on our pup. In full disclosure, we incorporated a few different things in our efforts. We treated the entire house with DE. In addition to a new bio-electric collar, we now give our pup ACV daily (he's always been on raw food, so diet isn't an issue). There's no way to tell if one thing is more effective than the others, but why mess with a system that works. We will definitely continue nematode application in the fall and spring!!

Excellent Part of Any Organic Flea Control Plan!
May 12, 2020  |  By Jhana Chinamasta
I am on my third year of using Nemaseek and NemAttack each Spring on all outdoor places my Cats enjoy napping in. I use no other form of flea control other than keeping small fleece blankets for their indoor beds and washing them in hot water and soap every three to five days without fail. Since fleas lay eggs on the surface of the Cat's hair that are designed to roll off onto the bedding or grassy areas Cats nap in, if you keep those specific areas free of eggs and larvae, you will have gone a long way in protecting your Cats from that awful suffering. I also treat any area with NemaSeek and NemAttack the Cats are prone to walk on outside just after waking (like right outside the Cat door) and vacuum under the surfaces immediately surrounding the indoor sleeping areas. Even though I have 6 long-hair Cats (!) that are indoor/outdoor and live in a wooded area frequented by every sort of Animal, weekly hand inspections reveal only the rarest of fleas, which can be picked off and destroyed in a container of hot soapy water. I cannot tell you how happy I am not using toxic "spot-on" or spray chemicals on our Feline Family members!! It has proven, with the addition of NemaSeek/NemAttack Combo, to be possible to keep us "flea-free" organically -- even in August! I highly recommend this product. As long as you use it as directed and take the time to understand that nematodes are living Creatures sensitive to temperature and moisture and think of what they need to get settled in, you will find it helps keep toxins off your Animals and your Land. I use as directed: refrigerate as soon as they arrive; use within two weeks -- I think ASAP is best; lightly water the areas you plan to treat before and after applying; mix well with the water you use to apply -- I use a watering can and mix with a long stick until there are no more "globs"; apply at dusk; keep area lightly moist through watering for at least two weeks afterwards to give the nematodes "a chance to get settled." I try, if possible, to pick a time when showers are expected to help with that..... Thank You Arbico for improving the quality of Life for our Cats and for us!! Much Appreciated!!

Fleas
Feb 29, 2020  |  By Kris Craft
So we have some loose cats in the neighborhood and they are carrying fleas and both cats have not been treated. I have pets and this year the fleas came in and took over my yard. I tried several different harmful sprays that didn't work at all. I did some more research and came across nematodes. I read that if the infestation is bad, you may need 2 applications, so I got my 1st batch a couple weeks ago and put them on the yard. Within a few days I could definitely tell the difference with me not having fleas jump onto my ankles and legs, so I know it's working. I did take their advice and purchased a 2nd application that I just recieved yesterday, 28 Feb 2020 and will put them down in the next day or so. I am very happy with the results from these little guys and will definitely be using just these in my yard for years to come. I wanted to stick to an organic base and this is the answer! Thank you Arbico for putting this out there for the public as an alternative to the harmful pesticides.

Plus, So much and more, the nematodes were for my lawn and garden, I can see results, eventually, there oky be any evidence left of any grubs or other pests.!! So exited and happy , shipping and instruction easy to follow, fast, and great product, by far. Thank you so much arbico!!

Nemotodes Ate My Fleas
Jul 24, 2019  |  By Karen Phillips
if you want your Fleas Gone, then buy the combo pack of NemaSeek and NemAttack like I did. Also, my dog trainer uses it in her yard and I always feel safe bringing my dog there for training because she won't come home with fleas.

Waiting
May 1, 2019  |  By LUANN
I am anxious to see if the product has an affect on the squash vine borer population, the main problem in my garden. Oh and flea beetles.
Owner Response: The should help for both! It's important to apply them early in the season for squash vine borers.

Lady bugs alive and hungry!
Jun 21, 2018  |  By Shirley
I bought 6,000 ladybugs for my neighbor and me and I let mine go in 2 waves a few days apart. It was fun to watch them immediately start sweeping aphids into their mouths! There were probably 2 dead ladybugs in each bag--they were shipped perfectly. We had the very worst aphid infestation this year, they were on everything, even the bark of our plum tree, the irises, roses, everything! I can hardly find an aphid now. Sure, some flew off, but my neighbors had it bad as well and getting those aphids benefits me as well. The second rounds of ladybugs are already out, after a great number of larvae were born and ate like hogs as well. Highly recommend. OH! And I had a tree expert out, and he said he could spray for aphids, but that actually lady bugs are more effective. They are the BEST idea.

Good customer service
Apr 11, 2018  |  By Ann
I would do business with Arbico again and again because they stand behind their claim, are responsive to problems and want a happy customer. I have used their nematodes 3x and believe they have eliminated the pests damaging my lawn. I especially like the fact they allow me to be chemical free.
