If birds are enjoying too much of what you grow, this reflective holographic tape provides an effective and humane solution. The snap and shine of the Holographic Scare Tape will frighten and deter even the most persistent of bird visitors. For optimum results, make sure that tape is installed shortly before crops ripen and feeding begins. Tape should be hung just above the fruiting area of the plants and towards the outside of the foliage so that they can move freely in the wind. It is the irregular light that deters birds and other animals. Remove tape when harvest is over. This keeps the birds from getting used to the tape and losing their fear of it. This ¾" x 100' roll of tape is proudly made in the USA.
For a wider reflective surface, see our Nite Guard Holographic Tape.
Birdscare Flash Tape is an alternative to Holographic Scare Tape that may be more effective depending on the anticipated use or coverage area needed.
Pull tape out, cut to desired length and attach to vertical supports. If possible, elevate Holographic Scare Tape 3 feet over crops so birds can see it from all directions. Install poles, stakes or other vertical supports if needed. For maximum reflective effect, twist tape to create 3 or 4 spirals between supports. Tape can be tied down, but do not staple.
- For Garden Rows: Use one strip along each row as close to the tops of plants as possible. For closely spaced rows, use on alternate rows.
- For Fruit Trees: Suspend above the tree if possible. Otherwise, attach to tree branches, running tape across, over and under branches so it is visible from all directions.
- For Large Gardens: Surround the perimeter of the garden with Holographic Scare Tape. Run tape lengthwise and crosswise to for an elevated grid above plantings. Use poles or stakes to elevate the crosshatched tape.
Environment: For use in home gardens, fruit trees, orchards, large gardens, berry patches, row crops and grapevines.
