Safer Brand Diatomaceous Earth is made from a formula containing diatomaceous earth and selected baits. After application, insects come into contact with the diatomaceous earth powder or ingest it causing them to dry up and die within 48 hours. Safer Diatomaceous Earth is odorless and non-staining. It remains effective in repelling and controlling insects as long as it is applied properly and kept dry.
About Diatomaceous Earth: Diatomaceous earth is a micronized dust made of the silicate skeletons of a specific group of algae called diatoms. This particular formulation of diatomaceous earth is mined in areas where large deposits of freshwater diatoms settled over the course of millions of years. It is not toxic if ingested, but is irritating if inhaled.
Diatomaceous earth is available in different formulations and should only be used according to labelled recommendations. Caution should always be used when applying diatomaceous earth due to its fine particle size.
