Neem Oil Insecticides

Neem oil insecticides kill small soft-bodied insects and mites directly, also works as a fungicide and kills plant parasitic nematodes (but is compatible with beneficial nematodes). Neem affects only the pest insects that are eating your leaves and sucking and chewing on the stems. For this reason, neem is not harmful to bees, most higher order insects, including most beneficial insects and parasitioids, and is not harmful to earthworms!

How does Neem work? Neem works in two ways: The first is that neem serves as an anti-feedant. Simply spray it on and bugs stop eating your plants! The main trick in this kind of an application is to get adequate coverage. The second way is that neem functions as a hormone disrupter which prevents the insect from transforming into the next stage in its life cycle. By preventing this transformation, a caterpillar stays a caterpillar (a non-hungry caterpillar) instead of being able to become a moth, lay more eggs, and damage your garden continually.

Neem is extraordinarily safe to use but is important to read the labels carefully for correct application instructions. It's the most sustainable product to have joined the Bug War for quite some time now, but it's been here all along.
