Decollate Snail Rumina decollata

These beneficial snails control infestations of small and medium brown garden snails. The snails will be dormant when you receive them; place them in a pan or bucket and run cool water over them for 2-3 minutes. Drain off the water and place them in a moist, shady area where brown snails are present.

Release rate: About 100/normal size yard; 1,000/acre. Allow time for them to work: it may take up to 2 years for heavy brown snail problems to be eradicated.

Release Restrictions: The ONLY states allowing release are Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and California (selected counties only). California's State Fish and Game Commission authorizes Decollate use in the following counties: Fresno, Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Madera, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, Tulare and Ventura. We cannot ship decollate snails to any other locations.

We were very happy we heard about the decollata snails - our brown snail problem was out of control. Due to the small area of infestation, however, we saw almost instantaneous results. Thank you!

After a couple of hours after wetting the sawdust, the snails were very active. My son's science project made it to the next level and he is going to the county fair. The snails are still alive and it has been over six weeks in a bigger container with moistened dead leaves.
