The definition of "organic" excludes the use of synthetic chemicals on vegetables and other products grown for sale. Soil Inoculants: More and more growers are using inoculants for stimulating populations in the soil and in compost. Inoculation of the soil by specially selected and tested micro-organisms insures the treated area is working at maximum capacity.
