Since its introduction around 1871, this bean has been a home gardener's favorite. These seeds will produce 15-20" bushy plants with no runners (some trellising may help as they will get heavy with beans) and abundant clusters of 4-5½" greenish to bright yellow pods. Seeds will be white with a purple/brown eye. Beans are entirely stringless, have a delicious buttery flavor and keep well in the refrigerator for fresh eating. They are also excellent for canning and freezing. These beans do well in Northern climates. Resistant to BCMV virus.
