Trees, especially young ones and those with delicate barks, can take a beating from climate conditions, animals and insects that prey on them, as well as landscaping equipment like lawn movers or string trimmers. Tanglefoot TangleGuard Banding Material gives your trees a layer of protection from these types of hazards.
You can use Tanglefoot TangleGuard Banding Material on its own to protect your trees from sun-scald, rodent and animal feeding, and objects that could hit them. But, when you apply Tree Tanglefoot Insect Barrier (or a similar product) to it, they form a strong and sticky barrier that will thwart any insects crawling up a tree to feed on or nest in it. While, of course, still offering protection from the other dangers.
This 3" x 50", ready-to-use banding material is lightweight enough to not smother or otherwise harm your tree, but it's waterproof and strong enough to stand up to the elements. In fact, this banding will last all season long. Always remove banding at the end of the season.

This Product Controls These Pests or Diseases: Use with Tree Tanglefoot Insect Barrier (or another similar product) to control Ants, Vine Weevils, Cankerworms, Winter Moths and other crawling insects.
FOR TREE PROTECTION:
- Starting at the base of the tree, wind wrap around trunk and work upward in overlapping bands until reaching the branches.
- Secure wrap by tucking end into the last overlapping row or use masking tape or light twine that will decompose naturally.
- Remove banding at the end of the season.
FOR INSECT PROTECTION:
- Wrap banding around tree trunk, out of contact with children or pets.
- Wind tree wrap tightly around trunk to prevent insects from crawling under the wrap. On rough bark trees, plug the gap under the band with cotton batting, foam or similar material.
- Secure wrap by tucking end into the last overlapping row or use masking tape or light twine that will decompose naturally.
- Apply Tree Tanglefoot Insect Barrier (or other similar product), following instructions.
