Spun Bond Frost Blanket and Row Covers are lightweight – weighing in at 2 oz. per square yard. They won't damage your plants while they protect them. Place directly on shrubs, perennials, trees or any plant for frost and freeze protection. For severe cold, use two layers with polyethylene covering over the top. For frost protection, all sides of the blanket must be 'sealed' to the soil to keep freezing temperatures out. Rocks or lengths of lumber work well for this and can be easily removed for harvest or to check on the plants.
Don't forget that you can use Spun Bond as a row cover in the spring to keep pest insects out as well as getting your plants started early! This product is strong enough to be re-used many times.
The Spun Bond material is semi-permeable so a limited amount of water and moisture will get through.
