Effective, Targeted Control of Key Crop Pests
PFR-97 uses Isaria fumosorosea Apopka Strain 97 to infect and kill target pest insects and mites including aphids, whiteflies, thrips and various mite species. This naturally occurring, entomopathogenic fungus continues to grow and spread once applied to offer maximum protection against plant feeding pests above and below ground. As the infection moves through the pest population, the fungus continuously propagates in the dead and dying pests. Once it kills the pest, spores erupt from the pest ready to infect the nearest suitable host.
Benefits of PFR-97 WDG:
- OMRI listed and NOP approved.
- 4-hour REI (Restricted Entry Interval) and can be used in organic and traditional growing.
- Limited effects on beneficial organisms (beneficial nematodes, mite predators, ladybugs, etc.).
- Highly compatible with most fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and beneficial arthropods.
- Can be mixed with copper-based fungicides without affecting performance.
- Can be applied in foliar and soil spray applications, soil injection, chemigation and as a drench.
Suggested Uses: Use to control insect pests (including mites) on vegetables, fruits, tobacco, mushrooms and other food crops.
Mode of Action: Isaria fumosorosea, the active component in PFR-97™ 20% WDG, is an entomopathogenic fungus found in infected and dead insects as well as in some soils that infects many insect and mite pests that occur on foliage and other above-ground plants, as well as many soil-dwelling pests. Under proper environmental conditions, spores of the fungus attach to and penetrate the cuticle of the target pest. The fungus grows inside the pest causing its death. The fungus then emerges from the dead pest to release more spores to infect other pests.
Standard Application Rate: Apply PFR-97 to moist or pre-irrigated soil at 1-2 lbs. per acre of soil. Please see manufacturer's label under the DOCS label for more specifics, including use instructions when applying in mushroom houses.
Storage Note: PFR-97 must be kept refrigerated for best results. It is recommended to be used within 30 days of opening.

This Product Controls These Pests or Diseases: Aphids (Aphidoidea), Black Vine Weevil (Otiorhynchus sulcatus), Broad Mites (Polyphagotarsonemus latus), Citrus Leafminer (Phyllocnistis citrella), Coleoptera grubs and larvae, Crown weevils, Japanese weevils (Popillia japonica), Leafminers (Liriomyza spp.), Lepidoptera caterpillars and larvae, Mealybugs (Pseudococcidae), Phorid Flies (Megaselia spp.), Plant Bugs (Lygus spp.), Psyllids, Root Worms (Chrysomelidae), Rust Mites (Aceria anthocoptes), Scarid Flies (Lycoriella spp.), Spider Mites (Tetranychidae), Thrips (Thysanoptera), Whiteflies (Aleyrodidae), Wireworms (Elateridae) and more.
PFR-97 can be applied as a foliar spray, soil surface spray and soil drench as well as through soil injections or chemigation systems. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and application instructions.
Application Considerations: Monitoring of pest pressure is crucial to the efficacy of PFR-97. Germination and growth of the fungus occurs over several days, so application should begin before there is heavy pest pressure. Apply PFR-97 at the first signs of target insect activity. Thorough coverage of application areas is necessary for best results. Ideal conditions for application are when relative humidity remains 80% or higher for 8-10 hours when air movement is low and temperatures are 70-90°F.
Spray Volume depends on crop size/type: 20-50 gallons per acre on small or young crops; 80-100 gallons per acre or more on full grown crops. Ultra low volume (ULV) foggers have given good results. PFR-97 can be mixed with copper-based fungicides, but do not mix with other fungicides. Do not apply within 5 days of fungicide applications other than copper.
Environment: Can be used indoors and outdoors in greenhouses, production fields, mushrooms houses, vegetable gardens, orchards and more.
Storage: Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal. Keep unopened product refrigerated (~39-40°F) and dry. Seal out moisture from unused material by closing the bag tightly after squeezing out excess air. Keep unused product refrigerated in the original package and use within 30 days after opening.
Warning & Toxicities: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
For outdoor non-greenhouse use, do not apply when bees are actively foraging. Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwater or rinsate. Do not allow contamination of or discharge into lakes, streams, ponds, or public waterways. Drift and runoff may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in water adjacent to treated areas.
