Trees and shrubs can easily fall victim to insects, the sun and rodents; this easy-to-use coating offers an environmentally safe solution to all of these problems. The essential oils offer insecticidal and repellent properties and IV Organic 3-in-1 Plant Guard uses 7 potent natural oils (Castor, Cinnamon, Clove, Garlic, Peppermint, Rosemary and Spearmint) to cover your trees or plants with protection. Insects and small animal pests are not the only threats to your trees, the sun itself presents danger. Sunburn and sunscald (when the temperature spikes suddenly during normally cold winter months) can cause great stress to a tree; they cause the bark to crack, which can invite pests and parasites in, and can lead to ultimately to death.

- Reduces the risk of trunk, branch, and foliage damage caused by summer sunburn, winter sunscald and insect and rodent activity.
- Many insects will be repelled by the odors; but, if they linger, they will be coated and smothered by the oils. Should an insect be foolish enough to ingest some of this paint, it will kill them shortly after contact.
- Castor oil is a proven pest deterrent; it has a taste that most rodents and other small animal pests find repugnant. After tasting this on your trees, they will shortly move to more flavorful pastures.
- Contains Diatomaceous Earth for yet another layer of protection from crawling insects.
- This product dries on porous, which allows moisture and nutrients to pass (ex. pruned branches and foliar feeding) through coated surfaces, unlike latex paint and tar-based products.
IV Organic 3-in-1 Plant Guard's highly reflective properties protect your trees by keeping a good portion of the sun's damaging rays out. For maximum reflective benefit, the white paint is recommended. Brown is ideal if you desire a more natural look. Both colors are easy to mix and apply and require only one application per year. This Product Controls These Pests or Diseases: Aphids, Ants, Beetles, Caterpillars, Mites, Scale insects, Snails, Termites and Whiteflies. Also effective against rodents, including Rats, Mice, Rabbits, Squirrels and Voles.
Recommended Application:
Up to 3 times per year for maximum repellent protection against insects and rodents. Once coat per year may be sufficient protection from sun damage.
Brush-On Directions:
- Add powder and oil contents to can.
- Fill can near top with water.
- Stir well.
- Add more water, if necessary to have a full can of product.
- Stir every 5-10 minutes while using this product to ensure uniformity of contents while applying product to tree trunk and branches.
- Apply with a paint brush.
Contents should cover approximately a dozen young tree trunks (3-gal size) with a single coat. Properly prepared product should have the consistency of a 50% diluted paint.
Bulbs (Flowering & Edibles):
Dip prior to planting for protection from underground insects and rodents.
Foliar Spray Directions:
Makes 5 gallons of ready-to-use spray for complete plant protection, including foliage, sunscreen and pest repellent spray.
- Ideal application is at time of transplanting and/or at times of extreme weather.
- Makes a 23 oz. spray bottle RTU by adding ⅓ - ½ tsp. powder with 5-10 drops of oil and add water to fill bottle.
- Filter liquid through strainer before using to avoid the possibility of clogging.
Tree Paste Directions:
Add ¼ cup (2 oz.) of water to contents. Stir well.
Use Restrictions:
Always test a small area and wait a few days to ensure damage does not occur. First year bark growth on some species are typically too waxy for good adhesion of this product, requiring second and third coats to accomplish full coverage. Do not consume this product. If product gets into eyes, flush immediately with running water for at least 15 minutes. Wearing gloves is recommended to avoid any possibility of skin irritation.
Storage: For best results, it is recommended that you only mix what you intend to use on the same day. Unused liquid (mixed) product may be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks, or frozen for up to 2 years. Paint powder that has not been mixed may be stored in a cool and dry area for up to 5 years.
