The Mexican bean beetle is a major insect pest of beans, especially soybeans. The Mexican bean beetle adults and larvae will eat the undersides of the bean leaves causing lacing of the foliage. The high levels of damage to the leaves can significantly reduce your yearly bean yields.

Pediobius faveolatus is a small beneficial wasp that will parasitize 2nd through 4th instar larvae of the Mexican bean beetle (and the same stages of squash beetle larvae, a closely related species). Timing is critical. Order Pediobius foveolatus as soon as the Mexican Bean Beetle larvae begin to hatch. It is important that the Bean Beetle is parasitized young as they will not stop eating immediately.

Pediobius faveolatus are shipped to you inside their host; Mexican bean beetle pupae. Once the adults emerge, the females deposit their eggs in the larvae of the Mexican bean beetle creating the parasitized mummy.

Release rate: Release one mummy per 70 sq ft. There are approximately 20-25 wasps per mummy, expect somewhere between 400-500 wasps per 20 mummies.
