Build A Beneficial Insect Population & Maintain A Healthy Garden!
Adult Green Lacewings (Chrysoperla rufilabris) are beneficial in establishing a standing population for continued control of pests or for improved pollination. Since lacewing larvae are the predatory stage, introduce adults early in the growing season prior to when garden pest control is needed. Each female adult lacewing lays around 200 eggs in a lifetime.
Preferred Food: Adult green lacewing sustain themselves on pollen, honeydew and nectar, laying eggs as they feed. Larvae feed on soft-bodied insects including Aphids, Mealybugs, Spider Mites, Leafhopper Nymphs, Caterpillar Eggs, Immature & Soft Scale, Thrips, and Whiteflies.
Method of Shipment, Biology and Release Rates: The adults are sold in containers (buckets) of 100 or 500 and should be released the day of receipt. Adult Green Lacewings are minor pollinators and do not provide active pest control themselves.
Optimal Temperatures: 67-90°F, RH >30%
Release Rates: Rates vary based on pest pressure. Repeat applications every 7-10 days until pest problems subside or your desired outcome is achieved.

To Release: We do not advise refrigerating the adults. If immediate release is not possible, moisten the accompanying sponge in water and replace it. Release as soon as possible, hopefully no later than 24 hours after receipt. To release, remove the top screen and use a piece of cardboard to regulate the amounts released throughout the target area. The eggs already deposited in the shipping container can be released in the target area by cutting the container.
Environment: Outdoors, Crops, Orchards & Vineyards, Nursery, Greenhouse, Grow Room, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, Pond & Environment, Interiorscapes, Container Plants
Storage: If not releasing immediately, keep in a cool place out of direct sunlight. >60°F, RH is not a significant factor for larval and adult success.
