CEASE can be used for organic production and targets common fungal diseases such as Botrytis, Powdery Mildew, Anthracnose, Didymella bryoniae (Gummy Stem Blight) and several leaf spot diseases such as Alternaria and Entomosporium. CEASE also controls bacterial diseases such as Pseudomonas, Erwinia, and Xanthomonas spp., as well as the soil diseases Rhizoctonia, Pythium, Fusarium and Phytophthora.
CEASE is a contact biological fungicide containing a patented strain of the bacterium Bacillus subtilis which works in two ways. First, the bacterial spores occupy space on the plant surface and compete with the pathogens; then active compounds called lipopeptides produced by each bacterium disrupt the germination and growth of invading pathogens. Due to this action, resistance is not likely to develop. CEASE can be used in combination with and/or in rotation with other products and as part of an effective resistance management program.
Benefits of Cease:
- Safe for beneficial insects and bees!
- OMRI listed & safe for use on food crops. Can be used with growth regulators.
- Effective against both bacterial and fungal diseases.
- 4-hour REI, 0-day pre-harvest interval.
- No phytotoxicity or residues on foliage or flowers.
CEASE may be used anywhere plants are grown, from residential to interior to field locations. Labeled crops include ornamentals, trees, shrubs, flowers, bedding plants, tropical plants, seedlings, conifers, and greenhouse vegetables. Compatible with
Beauveria bassiana products.
CEASE can be affected by rain or overhead irrigation as it is not rain-fast and contains no surfactant; to avoid this problem, apply with a spreader sticker like Therm-X 70.

How To Use: CEASE can be applied as often as every 3 days. It is recommended to spray once a week for prevention when conditions are optimum for disease. This is a liquid formulation that easily goes into suspension; however, it is best to maintain agitation during mixing and application to assure uniform coverage. It is compatible with a wide range of pesticides, fertilizers and adjuvants.
For flowering crops being tested at harvest (consumables, medicinal, etc.), CEASE can be used safely up to 3 weeks into flower. Remove from the spray rotation at later growth stages to avoid positive fungal tests. If you choose to use CEASE closer to harvest to control serious powdery mildew issues, use a sanitizing spray at least two times prior to harvest. Suitable sprays include Perpose Plus and OxiDate.
Application Rates: The most commonly used application rate is 4 quarts per 100 gallons of water per acre; however, the mix can vary from 2 to 8 quarts per 100 gallons per acre. See Product Label for specific crops and diseases.
