This heirloom tomato has come to us from the indigenous Zapotec people of Oaxaca, Mexico. These large plants are abundant producers and can grow quite tall (4-6'), so you will want to trellis them. Fruits are large (8-16 oz), and quite unique, with a deeply pleated or ribbed, somewhat pear shape. At maturity they are between pink and red. While their shape makes them ornamental, their outstanding sweet and intense flavor is the real show-stopper. Enjoy these beauties sliced in salads, sauces, grilled, dried or stuffed.
