These plants have thin stems with wavy green leaves and produce 4" round edible roots. The radishes are much like watermelon in their coloring (hence the name); they have green and white skin and rose-red centers. Plants will bolt quickly after spring sowing, so you will want to harvest right away and sow again in the fall. Radishes will be hot when eaten small and get sweeter as they grow. Enjoy them in many ways: simply sprinkled with black sesame seeds, in salads, soups, hot pasta or with poached fish.
