Psyllids Control

Psyllids

Psyllids, or jumping plant lice, are sap sucking insects found commonly on potatoes and pepper plants. Adults are tiny and striped with alternating dark and light bands. Females lay their eggs on the back of leaves. When nymphs hatch they are yellowish, but they become greener as they develop. They are flat, elliptical, and scale-like. They suck plant juices and secrete toxic saliva while feeding that does a great deal of damage to potatoes and tomatoes.

Symptoms of a psyllid infestation include: discoloration of leaves, base of leaves curling upwards, and production yield is lower than usual.
