||Condition the Soil
Use any of the natural and organic plant foods available through ARBICO Organics. These products will provide your plants with the proper nutrition they will need for healthy, steady growth. This will also help build humus (plants’ food). Each of these products will halt thatch build-up, open up rock-hard soil, reduce weeds and assure you of less need for watering. All are safe to use around people, pets, and wildlife. We recommend the following:
Nitron Formula A-35 Organic Soil Conditioner
Compost has been a part of our natural recycling of life on Earth for eons. By adding compost to your lawn, you will improve your soil structure which will lead to more moisture retention, reduce erosion, and improve aeration. Additionally, the nematicidal qualities of this compost will protect your soil from pest nematodes.
Even better than a fertilizer! Nitron will enhance your fertilizer, rebuild deficient soil, and increase microbial action. Apply as a foliar treatment twice per year for optimal results. Particularly important in areas with very hot summers or where dry conditions prevail.
Algamin Kelp Meal Fertilizer
Made from Norwegian Kelp, this soil conditioner will improve soil deficiencies by adding minerals, elements, vitamins and amino acids. Don’t forget to add some to your potted plants and garden as well. The additional organic matter will help retain moisture and improve root growth.
John & Bobs Soil Optimizer
Maxicrop Soluble Seaweed Powder
Soil Optimizer is a 100% organic, fully decomposed humus with other essential soil additives (humus is what is left after soil animals and microbes have finishes digesting organic matter). It rejuvenates the soil to facilitate healthy plant growth. There is no risk of burning plants or of over-applying. Apply twice per year to recondition your soil at the molecular level, and then watch your plants thrive!
Seaweed is an excellent source of trace minerals and natural plant hormones that your lawn must have in order to maintain health. Seaweed makes an excellent foliar that wards off and prevents lawn diseases. Available in a ready-to-use with a built-in attachment for a hose or as a concentrate in liquid or powder form. Use at least 5 times per year for the best lawn on your block!
This product is 100% organic and designed specifically to breakdown thatch. A layer more that ¼ inch thick must be removed to ensure grass plants get enough air for healthy growth. It is particularly important to keep thatch under control in areas where there are fungal disease problems (like brown patch).
Bat Guano For General Use
This is one of nature’s finest fertilizers. A little bit goes a long way. Works well with all types of lawns. This high nitrogen formula is great for greening up your lawn. This fertilizer is easy to apply and very economical.
Indoor pests start out of doors. Prevent them from invading your home or business before they become a nuisance. Use the following products outdoors to eliminate pests in their developing and adult stages.
We recommend the following products to control crawling insects such as ants and cockroaches.
Diatomaceous Earth for Crawling Insects
DE kills household and garden pests, like roaches, ants, fleas, and beetles (most anything with an exoskeleton). It’s made from ground fossils of prehistoric freshwater diatoms. The sharp edges of the microscopic diatoms scrape the insect causing it to dehydrate. DE is long lasting when kept dry. Use our Dustin Mizer for even spreading.
Terro Ant Killer for Sweet-Eating Ants
Combination of boric acid and sugar. The sweet sugar attracts the ants to the liquid, which they then carry back to the nest, along with the boric acid. When the colony feeds on the poison, the entire colony will be eliminated.
Orange Guard Pest Control
Works great for indoor or outdoor use. Outside, spray around perimeter of the house, especially near doorways, windows, or anywhere the pests can get inside. Also spray near garbage cans or other infested areas. Orange Guard is safe around food, people, and pets.
Beneficial nematodes are microscopic, non-segmented roundworms that kill soil-borne insects (but thankfully, they leave earthworms alone). A combination of NemAttack and NemaSeek will help control grubs, beetles, weevils, ants, termites, fleas, ticks, cockroaches, and much more.
Milky Spore for Japanese Beetle Control
Milky spore will kill the grubs of Japanese Beetles by infecting them with species-specific bacteria. Use in spring or fall along with nematodes for maximum control. Milky Spore only needs to be applied once in most cases.
EM-1 Microbial Inoculant
Lawns require healthy populations of microorganisms converting organic material into humus in order to survive. EM will also help with soil structure for reduced erosion. Watch your lawn flourish when you include soil inoculants as part of your overall fertility program.
ARBICO Organic’s Root Maximizer Beneficial Fungi
Most plants have a symbiotic relationship with mycorrhizal fungi. Unfortunately, because of soil depletion and new construction, these fungi are no longer present in the soil. By replacing the beneficial fungi, your lawn will grow faster, more robustly, and be healthier overall. It will also promote tolerance to disease and drought. Root Maximizer can be used on new or established lawns.
