Dipel® DF contains the bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis v. kurstaki or Btk. It is a dry, flowable formulation which is dust-free. Dipel® DF is registered to control most Lepidopteran (caterpillar) insects on fruits, citrus, tropical fruits, vegetables, grains, bulbs, flowers, herbs, turf, ornamental trees and shrubs. After ingesting a lethal dose, larvae stop feeding within the hour and will die within several hours to 3 days. It is best used when the larvae are actively feeding but before the plants are damaged. Dipel® DF is OMRI listed and WSDA approved. Because of the bacteria’s characteristics, it has no or very low impact on non-target organisms: humans, beneficial insects, birds, fish and wildlife are not affected by it. Dipel® DF has an REI of 4 hours, and can be used on the day of harvest. Contains 54%, 32,000 I.U. /mg of Bacillus thuringiensis v kurstaki and 46% inert ingredients. Application Rate: 1/2 to 4 teaspoons per gallon of water. Thorough spray coverage is needed because the insect pest must consume this material. Repeat applications may be necessary on 3 to 14 day intervals. Agricultural: Use .25-2 lb/acre; general recommended rate is 1 lb/acre. See label.

Why Restrictions? All products labeled as pesticides, whether the product is natural, organic or man-made, are regulated by each state. Restrictions for sale in a state occur because the manufacturer of the product chooses not to register that product there. If the product is not a pesticide, there may be other regulations that the vendor cannot easily meet having to do with labeling.
The reason for non-registration is usually economic: each state requires a fee that is paid annually, or the cost of re-labeling for just one or a few states is too high. For instance, each pesticide registered for sale in Arizona is assessed a $100 fee yearly for each size product.
If you would like this product in your state, let us know and we will communicate your interest to the manufacturer. If there is enough interest, the manufacturer may decide to register the product you want.
In the meantime, call us and we will help you find a similar product that we can substitute that is registered in your state.
