 | | ARBICO's Biological Fly Control Information & Instructions | | | The information below will help answer most of your questions about your Fly Eliminators. If you have additional questions, please call us so we can answer all of your questions. Toll Free 1-800-827-2847. About Fly Eliminators Fly Eliminators are gnat-sized, nocturnal, burrowing insects that do not bite, sting, or harm humans and animals. Adaptable to all climates, these parasites reproduce in two to three weeks, thus constantly reinforcing the beneficial population. Expect a reduction in general fly population in four to six weeks. At night ARBICO's tiny parasites seek out the pupa of the fly. They make a tiny tear in the pupa to feed and the females deposit (oviposit) their eggs within the pupa. Those eggs in turn begin to develop and feed on the developing fetal fly... eliminating flies. In about 17 to 21 days those parasites will hatch out of the fly pupa and begin the cycle all over again. Releasing parasites is fun and something the whole family can do together. It is safe, non-toxic, USDA approved and very affordable when compared to poisons! Life Cycle of the Fly The fly lays an egg that looks like a speck of sugar. Within a short time, literally hours, the egg develops into a larva that we call a maggot, which is microscopic and so small it is almost impossible to see. This little maggot is light sensitive and with it's strong little body writhes and undulates itself deep into the ground and manure away from the outdoor light. Once buried, it continues to feed and grow until it reaches a certain size and then it pupates. This is the cocoon stage of the fly which looks like the size and shape of a piece of rice and chocolate in color. Shipment and Release Rate Fly parasites are shipped via US Mail or 3 Day FedEx Saver. Once they arrive, examine the clear plastic bag for significant insect movement. When you see 30 50 insects crawling around the top of the bag, it is time to disperse the parasites. You can release the insects before they hatch; however, they must be covered with a thin layer of manure or ground cover to prevent birds and ants from consuming the unhatched fly parasites. If you do not see movement within the bag, you can speed up the process by placing the bag in an old pillowcase and setting it on top of your hot water heater. Make sure you check them every day.
Where To Release Fly Parasites Release insects to all potential fly-breeding areas. Some "hot spot" locations include the following: Manure and Urination Areas: • Inside barns, stables, stalls, hospital pens, or loafing sheds • Around corral posts. Paddock areas, along fence lines, and other frequented dropping sites • Around the perimeters of manure piles, pits, bins, or carts • In kennel or coop areas where manure accumulates Watering and Feeding areas: • Under water troughs, around barrels, buckets, or other devices • Where spilling or leakage occurs • Around bathing areas, drainage sites, and perimeters of run-off or stagnant pools • Areas where feed, straw, or hay have decomposed Other Fly-Breeding Areas: • Around compost piles and family gardens • Alongside garbage cans How to Release Your Fly Eliminators The insects are shipped as parasitized pupae in a wood chip medium and are dispersed by releasing a small handful at "hot spots". To release, scratch a 1-inch hole in the ground with your boot heel, drop in a small handful of sawdust and pupae, and cover them with straw, earth, or manure to protect them against wind, birds, ants or pesticides. The amount of parasites to release depends upon the size of the "hot spot". Use as small as a teaspoon or as large an amount as a handful. These parasites travel 30 to 50 meters in search of visible fly larvae and pupae. Seed as many hot spots as possible with your first application, concentrating heavily on the obvious fly-breeding areas. Repeat this release procedure in slightly different spots on subsequent applications. In this way, new cultures of parasites will be evenly distributed throughout the fly season. DO NOT place the parasitized pupae in standing pools of water or in the center of manure piles. Instead, apply them around the perimeters. How To Store DO NOT leave insect shipments in direct sunlight or areas of intense heat. Store them at room temperature (approximately 70 80 degrees F) until they begin to hatch. If needed they can be stored at 42 degrees F in a refrigerator for 3 - 5 days. SPRING AND WINTER: Maintain parasites at 80 degrees F to ensure proper hatching. Temperatures below 80 degrees F slow the process. SUMMER AND FALL: Warmer temperatures may cause hatching to occur more quickly. It is normal to receive your shipment and find parasites in the process of hatching. Release immediately. Hatching will continue over the next several days as the product has several stages of maturity. When To Release Fly Eliminators Begin your program when spring temperatures first arrive. It only takes three consecutive days of 40 degrees F weather for the overwintering fly populations to start developing. Each female fly will lay 1,000 eggs in her lifetime, so it is very important to release the fly parasites before you see the first fly of the season. The released fly parasites will start parasitizing the overwintering pupae, thereby reinforcing the indigenous fly parasite populations and killing it's host before the fly develops any further. Continue releasing the fly parasites throughout the entire fly season, until the first significant frost. It's important to release all recommended batches. The last batch will overwinter for the next fly control season, reviving around the same time the overwintering fly, still in the pupae stage, starts to develop. Notify an ARBICO consultant if any of your conditions change. ie. You have more animals. Ants are becoming a problem. Your next door neighbor just brought home 10 calves and they are 50 ft. from your back door. Use fly parasites in conjunction with EM-1 Microbial Inoculant to help break down organic matter along with good manure management. Pesticide Susceptibility Do not spray the facility at the same time you release the insects. If you must spray, we recommend that you spray 48 hours before or after releasing the parasites. Specialized or Custom Fly Control Programs: If you don't see a program that fits your needs, we will be happy to help you set up the proper custom program. Call us to speak with one of ARBICO's knowledgeable consultants. Questions Call 1-800-827-2847 | |
Standard shipping via US MAIL is included in the price of each shipment. IMPORTANT: Select US Mail as shipping method during checkout to avoid additional charges. Shipping Upgrades are available if you don't check your mailbox every day to insure your insects arrive safely. There is an additional $6.50 per shipment for the following methods: UPS 3 Day, UPS Ground or FedEx Ground There is an additional $12.50 per shipment for the following methods: UPS 2nd Day Air or FedEx 2 Day Helpful Hint: If you add items to your order that you want to ship with a method that would inadvertently upgrade your Fly Program, place a second order for those items. Adding items to your order that have upgraded shipping included will not upgrade your Fly Program shipping. Just choose US Mail at checkout, the other items will still be shipped with the method designated.

OK Where did you put them?
- By Nancy C. on Mar 29, 2010
I have used Arbico fly parasites for about 10 years. My horse herd, once 4 is now down to 1-2. Since our once rural area is now suburban, keeping the fly
population under control is important. One day a horse friend dropped by and as we talked we were
leaning on my manure removal bin. Suddenly a puzzled look crossed his face. "OK, Where did you put them?" she asked.
"What?" I responded. "The flies. where are they?" she queried. "Oh,
see those tiny little bugs, those are my fly parasites. They are tiny, non-stinging wasps that eat the fly larvae."
My friend has used fly parasites ever since.
EXCELLENT

I love my fly parasites, they are amazing. Arbico is an excellent company to work with. They have my business for life.
fly parasites
- By Jan on Apr 8, 2011
I have used fly parasites for a few years now. I have one horse that is allergic to fly spray and scratched hair off every year until using the little parasites. Since then; her coat is great and all of our farm animals live much more comfortable lives with no flies or chemicals used to kill them.
Works Great!
- By Buckin G Ranch on Aug 2, 2010
We have up to 4 horses at a time at the house and there are nearby ranches with cows and horses. So flies have been a problem. Fly strips would fill up within two days but within two weeks of putting out Fly Eliminators we saw a huge difference. Now the fly strips are hardly catching any flies. Thanks for a great product.
What a wonderful idea!
- By Ellen S. on Aug 6, 2010
I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the Fly Eliminators. It is the best money I have ever spent. Our blacksmith was here the other day and usually our horses stomp at the flies the whole time and I have to soak them with fly spray (which never works anyway). We saw a total of one fly and the blacksmith was amazed. I told him about your eliminators and I believe I made a true believer out of him. I usually chase flies around my home all day long with the fly swatter and that has
been reduced to one or two a week. How amazing. I want to thank you for
being prompt with the shipments and even replacing a shipment that didn't hatch because of the hot weather. Thanks again, Ellen S.

Great service, lower pricing than I was paying in the past.
Also received better instructions from you for using them.
Fly eliminator program
- By Erika on May 5, 2011
I have been using these fly eliminators for 3 to 5 years to control flies from horses and chickens.
They work great. Natural control is critical to me and fly parasites are the only way to go: they work, they don't bother the animals or me, they are easy to apply (every 21 days), and the cost is comparable or cheaper than other methods.
10 Years of Use

WE have been using fly parasites for around 10 years and we have very few flies to bother us and our horses. Very pleased with this product.

I have been using the fly eliminators control program for about 5 years. I have 3 horses and what was once a real problem around my barn is now hardly a problem at all. I would recommend this program to anyone looking for a natural way to control flies.
zone B fly Control programs - fly eliminators
- By Joanne H on Mar 21, 2011
I think this is the third or fourth year I have ordered Fly Eliminators, and I keep ordering them because they work. Although we still have flies, there are not very many, especially considering the number of animals we have. Even the farrier comments on how nice it is to work where there are not many flies. If only they would eliminate horse flies!
flies be gone
- By Mary K on Feb 20, 2011
We started using the Fly Control Program last year and we saw a dramatic decrease in fly problems. I would recommend this product to everyone. It won't eliminate flies completely but you will notice a huge difference in fly problems. I've already placed my order for this year.

I have used ARBICO's fly parasites for several years now with excellent results. I would recommend Arbico Organics to anyone who has a livestock fly problem.
LOVE these bugs!
- By Sue on Mar 1, 2011
Last year was the first year I and my husband used these little guys and I admit I was a bit skeptical. After a lot of research I decided to try Arbico's "brand" of Fly Eliminators based on price and the fact that there is no "middleman."
The shipments all arrived on time and ALIVE! :) We had 4 horses on our 5 acre property through the summer and didn't get one fly in the house! I definitely noticed a reduction in flies and other people noticed that our property had way less flies than other horse facilities with less horses! Also, the horses were not covered in flies all over their faces. We decided it was WAY worth the price and we even beefed up our order for this year to boost the protection, since this summer might be a little more severe than last year in temperature. Looking forward to another great year of NO FLIES!
PS I love the booster shipment in June!

Seems to control flies. I still have a moderate amount of flies when using fly eliminators, but probably because I don't use other means of control and our livestock population varies. We get cows in and out and I only bought for the horse end of the farm. I'd probably have a zillion flies if I didn't use the little darlings.
Fly Parasites are GREAT.
- By Barbara on Mar 2, 2011
This will be my third fly season to use fly parasites and I cannot say enough about how well they work. I DO have some flies, but VERY few. My vet commented last year that I had fewer flies than any other barn he visited last summer. And he's a busy guy!

Great Bugs!
- By Brenda R. on Mar 9, 2011
Our cow farm does not use the bugs nor do several other stables I know of. The difference is dramatic! To see my horses resting peaceably in the summer is wonderful. No stomping and shaking. Luv the bugs (:

- By Leslie I. on Mar 14, 2011
I live in a community consisting of 5 acre lots. When I visit other properties I can see how well my fly parasites are doing theire job - my horses are close to fly free and my neighbor's horses are covered with them - in some cases a dark cloud of flies. I'm can see how much more content my animals are, as well.
Fly Parasites
- By Dennis S. on Mar 16, 2011
We used these for the first time last year. What a difference in the fly population! I highly recommend these to anyone with a fly problem. They won't be a problem anymore!
Fly Freedom!
- By S. Holub on Apr 1, 2011
We have horses, the neighbors have cows and we have purchased our fly parasits through Arbico for several years without any issues. The best part for us is that the kids can be a part of the process. Simple, non-toxic and fun. Arbico's automatic program and reasonable cost has made freedom from flies possible!!

- By David S. on Apr 30, 2011
We have used the fly parasites before and have found that even before applying our first "shot" this spring, there was a residual force left over from last year. These li'l guys really do the job!

This product really does help. I have seen the difference when I start later than usual, the flies are much worse. Just wish I could have all my neighbors use it too.
Used to use another company but Arbico has a better price and better service. Thanks!

- By Grace F. on Apr 15, 2011
Although we are just starting into the fly season we are anxious to get our parasites up and going. We used them in the Phoenix area a few years ago and were very pleased with the results. We are going to see how they do up here in northern AZ. The staff of Arbico are great to work with.

- By Sheila C. on Apr 19, 2011
I have tried many products to help with the fly's for my horses. The usual sprays that wear off 10 minutes later, fly mask, etc. I started using this product last year and my fly population dropped to almost zero. My horses have never been so comfortable.
Fly Eliminators
- By Sybil on Apr 25, 2011
I have used fly eliminators for the past two years, this is my third year and so far they seem to be working. The flies do not seem to be as bad in the barn lots. I and my horses are quite happy with the results. Thank you!
Fly Parasite Control
- By Linda G Martinson on Apr 30, 2011
I got the first shipment of this product and spread it over my farm/house perimeter and it seems to be working. We haven't had the fly infestation that overwhelms us this time of year. I hope it continues to do its job? I am appreciating this product and would recommend it to others. Thank you, L G Martinson
Low Fly Zone
- By Ann R. on Apr 30, 2011
I have used this product for the past three years and have noticed a significant drop in fly infestations. Combined with good manure management, fly eliminators are a non-toxic solution to hoards of pesky flies!
Good Service
- By Cheri on May 2, 2011
I like that you send an e-mail in the spring to remind me it's time to order wasps. I also like the free boosters you offer. We don't have flies when all the neighboring horse properties do. Keep up the good work. Pricing is very reasonable also.
Fly Eliminators

Skeptical at first, I have been using Fly Eliminators for three years now. These "little fellas" are awesome! Hardly any flies at all. I have recommended them to friends and they are also getting good results.
Working So Far!
- By K. Reas on May 13, 2011
We had an unusually large amount of flies first thing this season. I ordered fly parasites and then we had 3 solid weeks of rain. Put them out on an evening when I thought the rain had stopped, and of course, it rained again for another 3 days. I didn't hold out much hope that they would do their job in all that rain, but here it is a week or so later and the flies have not come back as expected. Today was bright and HOT and sunny and I counted a total of 8 flies on my 9 horses. THAT, my friend, is fantastic. Both for me AND my horses. I'm really hoping that the parasites can keep it up all summer.
Fly Eliminators
- By Sheri on May 3, 2011
I have been using fly eliminators over 5 years. I use fly spray on my horses when the farrier comes. When I go to other properties using fly systems or premise sprays I realize how well the eliminators work. Arbico has been the most cost effective company for me.
Fly Eliminators
- By Hayden Foy on May 10, 2011
I have been using the Fly Eliminators for 5 years and am amazed how great they work. In the worst fly seasons they keep the flies out of the barn and outside as well.

- By Nikki on May 10, 2011
I am surrounded on three sides by cows, so I will never be completely fly-free, but I tried going without fly eliminators only one year and immediately regretted it. They definitely help!
Still in trial
- By Christina Mckee on May 11, 2011
I am on my second of my every 3 week delivery. My second batch did not start to hatch yet so I am still on my first dose of my new little friends. I have not seen any flies bothering the horses yet or flying around. If it stays like this it will be great. My second batch should start to hatch any day to set free. I do have wild turkeys all in my fields that I was worried they would eat them but it must be working just fine. I guess they find protection. I let them out just before sunset and most are still in eggs but when I see them starting to hatch they all do quickly. I will be using this next year but the true test will be later in the summer. I do have 2 horses and 1 pony and I am on 2 acres. I just wish there was something for the ticks. They are very bad this year even with the wild turkeys.
Why Did I Wait?
- By Laurilinn on May 13, 2011
I could have saved so much time and money if I had only bought this product earlier! Years of endless yucky, smelly traps and sticky tape, and to no avail - we still had flies. We have a small barn for our 2 horses and misc. barnyard pets at our house and it was embarrasing to show guests the barn in the summer months. I spent money on all sorts of products but just couldn't believe that setting a small handful of these tiny insects on the ground a few times could possibly work. It really does! There are quite literally, no noticable flies whatsoever at our barn. It is so pleasant around the barn now for both the horses and the people. If you only buy one new thing for your horse or livestock set up this year - it should be this product.
So far so good
- By Kim on May 16, 2011
This is my first year using fly parasites and so far I'm impressed. It's been cooler than usual this spring so it's a little harder to judge (since the flies aren't in full swing yet). But so far I haven't needed one drop of fly spray!
So far...so good !
- By Michelle W. on May 16, 2011
I have only had my first application of fly eliminators but, it appears to be making a difference. The number of flies bothering me and the horses really seems to have decreased and, with all the water, wet hay and perfect conditions - I was expecting a bad spring. Thanks Fly Eliminators!!

Absolutely amazing product!
- By Ann O'Malley on May 27, 2011
We have no horses, just two dogs. We were bothered by flies last year, even in April. I found this site and ordered the free trial shipment before we had the first flies this year. The results have been absolutely amazing. We've had a fly or two, but they probably came from an untreated yard and not ours. I've recommended Fly Eliminators to everybody --- and will continue to do so. THANK YOU, ARBICO ORGANICS!

Best Company for fly control
- By mavericksmom on Jul 10, 2011
I had been using the "other" fly parasite company prior to signing up with Arbico. I switched because I had a huge fly problem last year even though I was on my 3rd season of the "predators". I was using double the recommended amount/shipping every 3 weeks and still the flies were horrible. I am SO HAPPY I SWITCHED TO ARBICO!!!!! I was able to cut my shipment to the recommended amount - Arbico's Fly Eliminators appear healthier and more active than the other brand, Fly Eliminators are less expensive, and the option of one payment as opposed to monthly is a definite plus. The absolute best thing of all is that they are working BETTER than the "predators"!!!! Thank you - I was so disappointed with the other company - I was willing to give up on natural fly control - I am so glad I did not. WHERE you get your beneficial insects REALLY DOES MATTER!!!!!
No Flies!!

- By Cathy W on Aug 8, 2011
Last year we got a free trial of fly eliminators - and we thought they worked, but didn't get around to ordering a whole season's worth. This year we bought the whole season and boy do they work! Not only are the animals far happier, but our kitchen is next to fly free, which is a huge change from last year. We have four sheep, five goats, a cow, pony, donkey and 2 dozen chickens and the package we bought has been perfect. A little over $100 for a fly free summer is WELL worth it...and no pesticides! Awesome - Thank you Arbico Organics - we recommend you to all our friends :)
Very Happy w/Results!
- By trail rider on Aug 25, 2011
This year is the first year I have ever used the fly eliminators, and I must say I am very impressed with them! What a huge difference they have made around my barn with the fly situation. I didn't even have to use stinky fly bags this year, like I have used every year for the past 7 years. I now brag to others about how fewer flies I have had at my barn, and how they should try them too. I am definitely hooked on these little fly controlling wasps! Plus, for the price, they are such a good deal. So worth the money hands down. The "2-5 horses size" cost less than most quart bottles of fly spray. Give them a try, you will be hooked as well! Your horses will thank you!

OK. Where did you put them?
- By Nancy D. Carville on Dec 20, 2011
I have used Arbico fly eliminators for
several years. A horsey friend was visiting one day and as we talked, leaning against my manure bin dumpster, she suddenly asked. OK, where did you put them? What? I replied. The flies, she said, there are no flies. I told her about the tiny wasps busily eating fly larvae. She now uses fly parasites at her farm. I am now advising them to our local government to put around picnic areas etc.

We like Fly Eliminators
- By HouseMouse on Jan 9, 2012
We have used Fly Eliminators for about 8 years with great results. We begin to take them for granted, but when we visit other horse owners we find out exactly how well they work!! Customer service from Arbico is the best. On 2 occasions in our years of using Fly Eliminators we had to contact customer service because the "bugs" did not hatch--I am sure they were "baked" during shipping... The people we spoke to were friendly and efficient. They promptly sent replacements. We will not have our horses endure a summer without Fly Eliminators.
Great Results!

2011 was the second year of using the Fly Eliminators. We have two horses and find that we barely have flies using Arbico's product so we have been very pleased.
Fly Parasites
- By DENNIS on Jan 5, 2012
We have used the fly parasites 2 years in a row now, and never have more than a dozen flies the WHOLE season. The cost for these beauties is much less than what fly spray would cost, and much more effective. We will use them as long as we have horses!
Fly Control program works
- By joanne h on Mar 25, 2012
I have used the fly eliminators for fly control for several years, and have been very satisfied with the results. I have three horses and five goats, plus chickens and dogs and cats, but we have very few flies throughout the warm weather months. Even the farrier has commented on the low fly population on our property when he comes to shoe the horses.

I have been using the eliminators for 3 years now and I find they really do help knock down the population of the flies around my mini horses. Sure wish you had an eliminator that would kill gnats! Thank you Arbico Organics!
Great Service

I depend on Arbico to keep me on my fly program from year to year. They are always available for the questions that I have and I feel good supporting a company that has such a "good citizen" world view.

Fly Eliminators Really Work!
- By Holly on Apr 8, 2012
We began using the Fly Eliminator program a couple years ago. We were skeptical but desperate to decrease the number of flies without using chemicals. The Fly Eliminator program has worked so well that we wouldn't think of going without! Our horses and alpaca are much happier, and even when others in our area are complaining about those pesky flies, we are amazed to be doing well.
Get rid of flies
- By Danna on Apr 12, 2012
Have been using the fly eliminators from Arbico for 4 years now. I am skeptical of products like this but the fly problem does seem to be getting better every year and since we live on the river, we get a large variety of flies and lots of them. By Aug the horses are still loaded with flies but I have to say the problem is getting better. Enough for me to keep working at it. Arbico customer service is great and people are very helpful but not pushy. Great company.
GREAT organic fly defense
- By Cindy on May 21, 2012
Been a customer for several years. Use these on small backyard farm with 4 horses. They keep fly population almost non existant. I also raise honeybees and these are a safe fly preventative. Makes the barn a comfortable place for horses and humans. RECOMMEND!!!
Great Product!

I have used these beneficial "bugs" for 4-5 yrs. We have 2 acres of land and 2 horses and my kids have market goats for the county fair. Since I have been using the fly eliminators the biting fly and house fly population has decreased significantly. They are easy to spread and there is no down side to using them. Our barn and manure pile are less than 150 feet from the house and we can sit outside in the summer with minimal bother from pest flies. I will continue to use this product.

Seeing Results!
- By Ali Bruno on May 10, 2012
Living in TN, I've learned that the minute the weather is nice enough to open up our doors & windows, the flies invade the house. My sister has a horse farm & recommended Arbico Fly Eliminators. We signed up for the program, and for a minimal cost, we are experiencing great results from a product that actually works!!
AWESOME BUGS!!
- By Penny Clayton on May 2, 2012
I will NEVER go a season without my Fly Eliminators!! Here in NW Washington, the weather never kills off the bugs and the flies can be thick by early March. With the Fly Eliminators, the flies are very few and far between. LOVE THESE LITTLE GUYS!!!
Good stuff!

We used this product for the first time last year. We did notice a difference. This year - we found out our neighbors are also going to use it as well. It will be very interesting to see how it impacts both of us. There are still flies - but truly are not as many. We have two horses, four dogs, and 10 chickens. We were skeptical about it to start but figured it was worth a shot. Try it!
Fly parasites
- By Jody on May 6, 2012
I've used Arbico fly parasites for years. My two horses and one mule don't suffer from excessive fly predation. I've been able to cease using fly masks and most chemicals on my animals. We are all much happier as fly free inhabitants of our property.

We tried this product for free last year, Now it is a MUST HAVE!!!
We only had enough for one horse the first go around, and it was such a vast improvement from not having the little flies... We will be customers as long as we own our livestock!!!
THANK YOU, ARBICO

They Work!
- By Foxwood Farm on May 12, 2012
I definitely feel that "Fly Eliminator" bugs work! I have had way less flies since I started using them.
I wish I could get my neighbor to use them and I'm sure I'd notice an even bigger difference.
I've been using the Fly Eliminators for several years now. It cuts down on the cost of fly spray for the horses too.
Plus Arbico offers good customer service. Other companies with a similar product have tried to get my business, but Arbico's prices are a bit better and besides, "If it's not broke, don't fix it!"
Every time I dispense the critters I tell the flies "Say Hello to my little friends!" :)
This actually works!
- By Chris Richardson on May 11, 2012
This is the first year that I have used fly parasites, and I wasn't sure what to expect. These things actually work! In fact, they work so well that I can forget from time to time how bad the fly problem used to be. My barn is clear! My house is clear! And all this with practically no effort on my part, or chemicals on the horse. Well worth everyone giving them a try!

Definitely makes a difference. When I go to the farm next door, you see a significant amount of more flies. I have two friends who now use them as well.
Fly Eliminators

I have been successfully using fly eliminators for the past 3 years. It is very easy to distribute the fly eliminators and very convenient to have them arrive regularly in the mail. I would recommend them to anyone with horses to control their fly problems.

I used the wasps last year. The fly problem seemed considerably better. I just received my second batch of wasps this year last week. This past weekend I noticed the wasps were busy crawling around the cow patties in the pasture. So they are doing their job.
