Each vial has an average of 250 Podisus eggs. CAREFULLY dispense approximately 25 eggs into a paper cup, hang cups individually near foliage, out of direct sunlight. Podisus eggs can also be dispersed on the lower leaves of plants directly in field crops, taking care to be placed out of direct sunlight and rain. Eggs will hatch within a week of release, depending on ambient temperature. Podisus nymphs will emerge from egg capsules and move as a group onto the nearest leaf. Podisus eggs are shipped in a small vial with some vermiculite.
Target Pests: Caterpillars, beetle larvae, Colorado potato beetle, Lygus bugs and many other immature insects.
These predators feed on beetles, loopers, and worms. Larvae begin feeding 5 days after hatching and attack prey throughout the next three weeks of development by injecting a substance that paralyzes within 60 seconds.
Use one unit for every ten feet of garden or approximately 4,500 per acre.
