Used by horse owners, breeding and training facilities, dairies, poultry and swine facilities, feedlots, gardeners, pet owners, kennels, and other places where flies are a problem. This made-to-last, rust-free, heavy duty trap goes anywhere. Use it to reduce existing fly populations, fly blooms and migrant flies. The yeast bait is mixed with water and poured into the container at the bottom of the trap. Within seconds flies are lured into the trap. They enter into the confinement chamber and dehydrate from exposure to the sun. When the solar fly trap begins to fill up with flies, just empty, hose out and reset with new bait.
Comes with one packet of bait, which is enough for approximately 5 weeks. Dimensions: 12" Dia. x 10.5" tall Instructions Available for Download: (PDF file) Solar Fly Trap Instructions.
Availability: Ships in 1-2 business days.

Bull goose loony
- By Joan Fuchs on May 4, 2011
Although winter has been stubborn about moving on, I baited and put the solar fly trap to work. It caught flies fine. The only problem is that the wind blew the trap around the yard. Now I carefull weigh it down! I believe I will like it even more as the weather finally warms and more flies hatch. I was glad you did not send the fly parasites any earlier since it has been cool, to cold and nothing is hatching yet!
Works better than expected

I have had the Solar Fly Trap working for 3-4 weeks and I am amazed at how many flies (and other bugs) that we have killed. Horse flies were making our pool area intolerable. The only con is that the legs are weak and you need to be careful when you put the top on the unit. I also purchased the parasitic wasps at the same time.
Effective!

I purchased one, put it out and it began its collection within hours! I used the beer and egg mixture instead of powder. (I hated the smell) I purchased 3 more and placed them in my backyard between the house and horse fields!
Solar Fly Trap

Hi- this works so well, it is almost scary how many flies have been trapped and died due to the tecbnology of this trap. We knew we had a lot of flies, however not this many. Thanks for the recommendation!!!!
I really like it. Does the job very well.

As long as you add new bait every day or so it really attracks flies.
Wow!

This Fly trap is amazing. It is almost scary how many flies we have trapped in this. The solution is stinky, however it works!!!!
Wonderful Contraption
- By Duane B on Apr 2, 2012
I've just received a new set of these wonderful contraptions to replace the set I bought about 15-20 years ago. After that many years of use and abuse, they were getting pretty tired. I tried making my own, based on the simplistic Arbico design, but found that successful assembly was anything but simple. These things work!! Mix up some bait solution, put the traps out in a sunny location, and watch the dead flies accumulate. These wonderful contraptions are well worth the money.
Awesome!!

I bought a trap this spring, and am buying a second right now! Although fly season isn't in full swing yet here in northern Wisconsin, between the Fly Eliminators and the Solar Fly Trap, I haven't seen more than a few flies on my 4 horses. LOTS of flies in the trap, though!!
Amazing

The solar fly trap is amazing - will be using it instead of the hanging bag traps because is less messy and gathers more flies than you ever realize you have - 5 stars
