PredaLure - Pack of 2

PredaLure is a simple way to control a number of destructive insect pests. PredaLure contains wintergreen essential oil, which is mostly made of methyl salicylate, a natural attractant for beneficial insects like Ladybird Beetles (Coleomegilla maculata), Lacewing, Hover Flies, as well as Bigeyed Bugs, Mite Predators, Spidermite Destroyers and other beneficials. Attracting these into a crop area can reduce the need for insecticides. PredaLure is NOP classified as an allowed pheromone lure for organic crops.

Ladybird Beetles, Lacewing, Minute Pirate Bugs, Bigeyed Bugs, Mite Predators, and Spidermite Destroyers are voracious eaters of many insect pests but are not naturally very numerous. Putting out PredaLure will increase their numbers in your area. On the other hand, hover flies are naturally more abundant. They are easily recognized by their bright colors as they hover over flowers. They mimic wasps and bees in their colors, but only have one pair of wings, whereas bees and wasps have two pairs. Adult hover flies do not consume insects but eat nectar and pollen (thus helping to pollinate your crop). If they stay in your area, the eggs they deposit will turn into larvae that are voracious eaters of aphids and scale. So using PredaLure to attract beneficial insects, including hover flies, increases your vegetable or fruit production, and their larvae will help you control aphids, whitefly, mites, scale and more!

The Wintergreen oil in PredaLure is encapsulated in a controlled release packet that lasts for 4 weeks. In the field or in a nursery, simply place PredaLure at crop height throughout the area requiring control, especially in “hot spot” areas. Tests have been conducted with soybeans and corn; just 3 PredaLures per acre significantly increased the number of beneficials. Increased beneficials mean fewer pests!

PredaLure is available in 2 packs, 10 lure foil packs and 25 lure foil packages. Hang 1 lure per 10,000 sq. ft. every 4 weeks. If not all lures in a foil package are used at once, the foil may be folded over, paper clipped, and placed in the freezer for future use.
