Orange Guard Fire Ant Control will eradicate fire ants without risking the health of your family, pets or the environment because all the ingredients are on the FDA GRAS list (generally recognized as safe). Orange Guard Fire Ant Control is water based, so further dilution is easy. OMRI Listed as allowed for use in organic production, Orange Guard Fire Ant Control can be applied full strength, but in a test it worked just as well when diluted 3 parts of water to 1 of Orange Guard Fire Ant Control. It works by dissolving away the waxy coating on the ant’s exoskeleton, which clogs the spiracles (how they breathe), and they suffocate. Method of Application: Puncture the mounds and then saturate them, using 1/2 gallon of either full strength or diluted (3 parts of water to 1 part Orange Guard Fire Ant Control). Dilution does not harm grass and covers approximately 8 mounds. As a perimeter control, use full strength, saturating the ground around the area you wish to protect from fire ants. However, at full strength Orange Guard Fire Ant Control will damage grass. Ingredients: Active Ingredient: d-Limonene (orange peel extract) ….. 5.8% Inert Ingredients……………………………………… 94.2%

Why Restrictions? All products labeled as pesticides, whether the product is natural, organic or man-made, are regulated by each state. Restrictions for sale in a state occur because the manufacturer of the product chooses not to register that product there. If the product is not a pesticide, there may be other regulations that the vendor cannot easily meet having to do with labeling. The reason for non-registration is usually economic: each state requires a fee that is paid annually, or the cost of re-labeling for just one or a few states is too high. For instance, each pesticide registered for sale in Arizona is assessed a $100 fee yearly for each size product. If you would like this product in your state, let us know and we will communicate your interest to the manufacturer. If there is enough interest, the manufacturer may decide to register the product you want. In the meantime, call us and we will help you find a similar product that we can substitute that is registered in your state. Please call with any questions, toll free 1-800-827-2847.
