How are Nematodes Shipped? REFRIGERATE UPON ARRIVAL. Remove nematode bag(s) from insulated shipping container or packaging and place in refrigerator until ready to use. Nematodes are shipped in an easily dissolved formulation that you mix with water. How are nematodes applied? The solution can be applied using a watering can, hose end sprayer, backpack or pump sprayer or through irrigation or misting systems. Please see the instructions for the RL Flo-Master for hose end sprayer directions. When should they be released? Release early in the morning or predusk when temperatures are cooler and the sun is not so bright. Should the soil be moist after the nematode application? The soil should be moist at time of application and lightly watered immediately after application. After application, regular watering of the treated area will provide sufficient moisture. Generally speaking, water every 3-4 days if rainfall does not occur. What's the application rate? The Garden Sizes of NemAttack and NemaSeek contain 10 million nematodes and will effectively treat approximately 3,200 sq. ft. The Farm Sizes contain 50 million nematodes and will effectively treat 1/2 to 1 full acre of treatable surface depending upon level of infestation. The Ranch Sizes contain 500 million nematodes and will treat approximately 10 acres. It is best to make at least two applications, separated by 7-10 days in order to stagger the life cycles of the nematodes and to assure complete coverage. In cases of severe infestations, applications should be made every 7-10 days or until infestation subsides. How long can nematodes be kept before use? Beneficial Nematodes can be stored in a refrigerator for up to two months (do not freeze!). The best way to store unused portions is to take them out of the original container and place them in a large shallow storage container. Cover them with no more than a ½ inch of water. Do not seal the shallow storage container completely, Beneficial Nematodes must have air. This storage technique will ensure that the nematodes do not dry out and are exposed to air so they can breathe. How long does it take to see results? In general 3-7 days for caterpillars such as cutworms, armyworms, sod sebworms. For grubs and weevils such as Japanese beetle, black vine weevil and billbugs feeding stops within 3 days with maximum control occurring over 2-4 weeks. Nematodes disintegrate the pests from the inside out. You will not see dead insect bodies as you would with a chemical knockdown. How often should nematodes be applied? Nematodes are recommended for use whenever larvae or grubs are present. Generally, this is during the spring and fall months. Because larvae feed on plant roots, beneath the soil surface, severe damage can be done before realizing there is a problem. Look for signs of an adult insect, such as leaf-notching. If adult insects are present, their eggs will be hatching soon. Keep in mind, one application may not eradicate a population of insects that has become established over a period of years. Will nematodes live through the winter? In general, harsh winter weather in most parts of the country almost guarantees a significant decline in the population of the nematodes. In most cases, nematodes (just like insects) will become dormant during cold weather. Any survivors would be few in number to provide adequate insect control. If your insect pest returns the following year, another application may be necessary. When nematodes are applied to one area will they move to other areas? Nematodes, due to their microscopic nature have limited range of movement. Generally NemAttack, our formulations of Steinernema will stay where you put them, but NemaSeek (Heterorhabditis) will continue moving through the soil until they find a pest to infect. Warranty ARBICO Organics makes no guarantee of effectiveness due to subjectivity of application. ARBICO Organics does guarantee live nematodes upon arrival of product and provides telephone backup for customer questions or problems.

The Silent Killer
- By R.K-W on Jul 20, 2010
For those who have been battling grubs and catepillars this product will not disappoint. I have been fighting Squash Borers and nearly lost all my Atlantic Giant pumpkin plants. After applying the nematodes in the evening I felt a great satisfaction knowing that I had unleashed an army that would be fighting for me around the clock! It has been almost 3 weeks and the plants have started to perk up again. I attribute this improvement to the ridiculous amount of rain we have had followed by scorching sunny days, but also to the fact that the plants are not getting attacked by the larval squash borers as much, if at all. I will be reapplying soon, as per directions and hope the nematodes make my garden and yard a permanent home. I have already planned on "adopting/recruiting" more of these silent killers from Arbico in the future and would recommend them to anyone who is seeking a new ally in their integrated pest managemnt system.
Sincerely,
Squash Borer Hater
Mole Crickets, wireworms, fleas
- By Linda Inveninato on May 5, 2011
Tybee Island, like most dry and sandy/silty communities, have every sort of flea, fly, caterpillar, worm, termite, stink bug, mole cricket, etc. I've used all of the beneficial nematode products. All have performed as promised. I highly recommend them.
Japanese Beetles -- Gone!!
- By Mark S. on Aug 27, 2010
I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but my roses had been *covered* with Japanese beetles and, voila, like magic, two weeks after the first NemaSeek application, I can't find a single one. Very easy to apply, fast shipping, will definitely look at more Arbico products for future pest control (etc.) needs. Thanks, Arbico!
GREAT PRODUCT
- By FR on Oct 18, 2010
I have a dog. We had flying ants (like termites) a year ago. I applied this product prior to summer and recently. The flying ants made a small appearance, but no swarm like last year. No Fleas. Product works great!
Grubs in the compost
- By Woofhound on Mar 16, 2011
Every few years I have to treat our compost bins to rid them of the large grub worms. The worms eat our sprouting plants when the the compost is transferred to the garden. Using beneficial nematodes has been our organic remedy of choice.
Excellent!
- By Karl Pepin on Jun 3, 2011
This is my 3rd year using NemaSeek nematodes with great success! Grubs and the resulting Japanese beetles have been virtually eliminated. My lawn is healthier, and the shrubs and trees no longer suffer destructive defoliation from a beetle outbreak. The new medium for the nematodes is easier to use and dissolves much better. Thanks, Arbico!
Prompt and healthy reception
- By Sue G. on May 3, 2011
Having previously ordered nematodes from another source (2 tries), and receiving dead ones, I was pleased with your shipping arrangements so that they arrived promptly, and very healthy. They were even wrapped with an ice pack and surrounded with insulating wrap. Thanks.
NemaSeek Beneficial Nematodes
- By Tom B. on May 18, 2011
It is difficult to tell how effective the product is because the target is white grubs that are not visible until I dig in my vegetable garden. But the limited digging I have done has had almost no grubs versus the heavy infestation I started with. In addition, your product was much easier to use than the previous one I had tried from another source. Yours did not clog my hand held sprayer like the other one did. Also, your response to my initial inquiry was fast, direct to the point, and made it easy for me to know what to use. Finally, your delivery was exactly as promised, and your directions were right on. Later, when I have had more time to evaluate the results, I will probably want to order more, both for additional applications to my vegetables and for new applications to my decorative gardens.

We like!
- By surfercajun on Jun 20, 2011
We really like the Nematodes. Usually my plants begin to die off and it usually is not because of the heat. These guys are awesome. We still have some left to put out then we want to order more for the fall.

NemaSeek Beneficial Nematodes
- By WRD on Jul 5, 2011
Unlike other Nematodes I have purchased, where you had to soak a sponge, these were much easier to work with.
NemaSeek success
- By Hop Lawn on Jul 6, 2011
We've had an increased infestation of grubs on our lawn over the last two years. I started using NemaSeek nematodes this year as I did not want to use any chemicals. I concentrated the Nematodes on the known patches this year over a 3 week period. So far I have not seen the yellow 'burn' marks. I'm very happy as I was initially skeptical. Unfortunately I did not do such a good job on the areas that I thought were unaffected. I bought more last night to remedy the situation.
Great Product

Customer service is the best. Terry is great.
Man vs. Ants
- By Steve on Sep 6, 2011
In my garden, I had the unfortunate situation where ants were farming aphids on my trumpet vines. Lacewing and Mantis couldn't get to the aphid infestation because of the ants on guard. The Nematodes have since taken care of the ants and left a smorgasboard of Aphids for the lacewings and Mantis. Gotta love it when a plan comes together.
Well...
- By Lisa on Sep 6, 2011
I have used these guys before and they seem to keep everything in check. I got them again because a few small trees were dying but now I do not know if was the grubs or the heat... maybe both and I was just to late... But I will say Arbico customer service is outstanding!
No More Grubs
- By shbeachbum on Sep 15, 2011
Service/delivery was excellent. Nematodes worked so well that if the grubs become a problem next year, I will do the nematode route instead of chemicals.
NemaSeek
- By timbo on Sep 28, 2011
