How are Nematodes Shipped? REFRIGERATE UPON ARRIVAL. Remove nematode bag(s) from insulated shipping container or packaging and place in refrigerator until ready to use. Nematodes are shipped in an easily dissolved formulation that you mix with water. How are nematodes applied? The solution can be applied using a watering can, hose end sprayer, backpack or pump sprayer or through irrigation or misting systems. Please see the instructions for the RL Flo-Master for hose end sprayer directions. When should they be released? Release early in the morning or predusk when temperatures are cooler and the sun is not so bright. Should the soil be moist after the nematode application? The soil should be moist at time of application and lightly watered immediately after application. After application, regular watering of the treated area will provide sufficient moisture. Generally speaking, water every 3-4 days if rainfall does not occur. What's the application rate? The Garden Sizes of NemAttack and NemaSeek contain 10 million nematodes and will effectively treat approximately 3,200 sq. ft. The Farm Sizes contain 50 million nematodes and will effectively treat 1/2 to 1 full acre of treatable surface depending upon level of infestation. The Ranch Sizes contain 500 million nematodes and will treat approximately 10 acres. It is best to make at least two applications, separated by 7-10 days in order to stagger the life cycles of the nematodes and to assure complete coverage. In cases of severe infestations, applications should be made every 7-10 days or until infestation subsides. How long can nematodes be kept before use? Beneficial Nematodes can be stored in a refrigerator for up to two months (do not freeze!). The best way to store unused portions is to take them out of the original container and place them in a large shallow storage container. Cover them with no more than a ½ inch of water. Do not seal the shallow storage container completely, Beneficial Nematodes must have air. This storage technique will ensure that the nematodes do not dry out and are exposed to air so they can breathe. How long does it take to see results? In general 3-7 days for caterpillars such as cutworms, armyworms, sod sebworms. For grubs and weevils such as Japanese beetle, black vine weevil and billbugs feeding stops within 3 days with maximum control occurring over 2-4 weeks. Nematodes disintegrate the pests from the inside out. You will not see dead insect bodies as you would with a chemical knockdown. How often should nematodes be applied? Nematodes are recommended for use whenever larvae or grubs are present. Generally, this is during the spring and fall months. Because larvae feed on plant roots, beneath the soil surface, severe damage can be done before realizing there is a problem. Look for signs of an adult insect, such as leaf-notching. If adult insects are present, their eggs will be hatching soon. Keep in mind, one application may not eradicate a population of insects that has become established over a period of years. Will nematodes live through the winter? In general, harsh winter weather in most parts of the country almost guarantees a significant decline in the population of the nematodes. In most cases, nematodes (just like insects) will become dormant during cold weather. Any survivors would be few in number to provide adequate insect control. If your insect pest returns the following year, another application may be necessary. When nematodes are applied to one area will they move to other areas? Nematodes, due to their microscopic nature have limited range of movement. Generally NemAttack, our formulations of Steinernema will stay where you put them, but NemaSeek (Heterorhabditis) will continue moving through the soil until they find a pest to infect. Warranty ARBICO Organics makes no guarantee of effectiveness due to subjectivity of application. ARBICO Organics does guarantee live nematodes upon arrival of product and provides telephone backup for customer questions or problems.

Worked so quickly, my daughter who had orange beetle infestation saw immediate results. We shared an order and she wants to do this again for spring. I saw immediate results for our peach trees.

For over a decade I began used Beneficial Nematodes to control Japanese Beetle Grubs in my sheep pastures, the lawn and in my garden, which covers about 3 acres. I went from yearly infestation to not having a problem. This year the cucumber beetles were unreal. A quick application and the devils are gone! I raise organic and love ARBICO Organics NemAttack and NemaSeek. I like to think of nematodes as little Pacmen. CHOMP, CHOMP CHOMP! ;-)

Before you plant
- By Jim on Jun 2, 2011
As I saw fleas, wireworms, mole crickets, and cutworms last year, I applied both NemAttack and NemaSeek prior to planting this year. Wirwworms and cutworms are gone. The Fleas and mole crickets are coming in from outside my garden, but I am able to keep them under control. I'm enjoying a bumper crop! I will apply NemaSeek and NemAttack again prior to planting my winter garden.
Fleas

We have dogs, they get fleas, we have been using (spraying) Nematodes around our house for many years. It works great, virtually no fleas and done a natural way without pesticides.

Apparently these work, as I am not noticing any fleas now. I told one of our neighbors about all the products, showed him the catalog, and he placed an order, and passed the information on to someone else. Thank you so very much. You may have saved my sanity. God bless you. I believe in natural products, and these didn't disappoint me.
Always pleased

I am so glad I discovered this site to order nematodes from. I had used other suppliers that cost more and did not provide a great product. I am very happy with all aspects of Arbico. I got a great product at a really good price and my order was shipped quickly with careful packing. Thanks and I will be a return customer!
Fighting iris borers
- By egyptianonion on May 31, 2011
I first used NemAttack in 2010 after discovering in early May a widespread infestation of fungus due to iris borers, especially in one particular area. (We had experienced unusually high temperatures in April, which might have been a factor in the early appearance of the problem.) I dug up and cleaned the rhizomes and the ground as best I could with Chlorox solution, replanted what was not rotted, and then used the NemAttack twice over all iris groupings, spacing applications two weeks apart. I saw no further infestation that year.
In 2011 I applied NemAttack as a preventative on April 25 and again on May 11. (Temperatures were normal for April this spring.) I have noted so far only 3 rhizomes infected out of at least a couple hundred in my garden areas. I am pleased with the results, and plan to use Nemattack next year in hopes of keeping a clean garden.
Nematodes save the day
- By Linda Low on Jul 4, 2011
This product worked very well for cabbage root worm infestation on kohl crops in a largish home garden. We applied it when we recognized that kohl crops were wilting in the heat of the day, and noted the little buggers on the roots of affected plants. With the exception of a few of the most dramatically affected plants, the rest of the crop rebounded nicely, albeit with the help of occasional foliar application of a kelp/fish emulsion fertilizer to compensate for the damaged root systems.
We garden intensively in raised beds. We first diluted half of the packet and applied it at the base of each plant with a bulb syringe, and then broadcast sprayed around the each plant with the diluted contents of the rest of the packet. That proved very effective.
Thanks, once again, Arbico, for saving our harvest!

Beneficial Nematodes
- By Karen Sage on Aug 1, 2011
This is the second year I've used nematodes as a flea preventative in my yard. I show and breed dogs and wish I'd known about nematodes sooner. I hate using chemicals around or on my dogs. Now I tell all my pet owning friends about this healthy, safe way to prevent fleas!
Good as always
- By Kate C. on Aug 30, 2011
The shipment arrived on time, and the new packaging was easier to use. I just mixed it in a giant watering can-like bucket, and it was easy to apply. The weather has gone back and forth with hot and cold, so I don't know how many survived, but I figured ANY reduction in flea population would be helpful.

Positive experience
- By Raquel on Sep 6, 2011
My product wasn't available when I ordered it. But a nice lady gave me a call to let me know personally and to ask if I would like to wait for the product or buy it somewhere else. I decided to wait. She also let me know that the sale was for a buy one get one free. An offer I hadn't noticed. That was pretty cool of her to let me know. Thanks.
First time
- By Lisa on Sep 6, 2011
This is the first time I have used them. I think it might have been too late for some trees and veggies... and of course we are dealing with unbearable heat. I am sure they are doing their job. Maybe for the ants because I have not seen any for awhile!!! Thank Arbico for your outstanding customer service!
Well Done!

- By LindaM on Oct 24, 2011
Amazing! Those little nematodes went right to work and all the fleas that came with our new grass are gone. I used half and will use the other half this week just to give it a double dose. Thank you and I'll tell my friends.
