Citric Acid - 50 lbs

Citric Acid is used as a buffer to adjust the pH of water when applying herbicides and pesticides like Matratec hebicide, and PyGanic EC that are sensitive to the alkalinity of water.  If the water in your area is too alkaline (above pH 7), it may make the pesticide react before it is sprayed, cutting its effectiveness by half or even making it completely ineffective!

Citric acid can also be used to lower soil pH, which will make nutrients more available for your plants.

Rate of Use:

Reduction of Soil pH: 16 lbs of citric acid dissolved in 4 gallons of water will make enough 50% solution to treat approximately 500 sq. ft. and will lower the pH by approximately 1 point. This solution is best applied through drip irrigation systems.

Matratec herbicide recommends 5 lb Citric Acid per acre

Pyganic EC recommends sufficient Citric Acid to lower pH  to 5.5 - 7
