This new 5 gallon bucket is economical – if you use it for the Bokashi bucket compost container, it is enough to treat 18 EM Compost containers of food waste (90 gallons total).

Directions:

Litter Box: Control odor by adding two cupfuls of Bokashi to fresh litter, then 1 cup weekly to extend the life of the litter.

Fermentation bucket: Sprinkle a handful of bokashi on fresh food waste after it is placed in fermentation bucket. Use enough Bokashi to coat food waste thoroughly.

Compost pile: Sprinkle a handful of bokashi on fresh food waste. Fermented food waste can be buried in a hole and covered with 6 inches of soil or layered in a compost pile to accelerate decomposition.

Garden or Plantings: Sprinkle Bokashi on mulch or other plant residues. Use 1 lb. Per 100 sq ft. Or add 2% to potting soil.

Keep bokashi dry during storage. Use bokashi within 1 year of purchase.

I was very happy to find EM-1 Bokashi Bran available in a 5-gal. bucket. I have used Bokashi Bran in my compost buckets for 2 years. I love being able to compost ALL of my kitchen waste (dairy, meat & fish) and not have to throw any food scraps away. The Bokashi method is easy and convenient.
