I have always enjoyed spending time outdoors in nature and with pets. In my twenties, I started to develop physical symptoms such as severe chronic fatigue, headaches, and joint pain. It was not until years later that I realized I was suffering from Lyme Disease, an infection carried by deer ticks. I have since spent years educating people about this increasingly common but serious condition and was thrilled to find ARBICO-Organics, a company that actually has an environmental solution. I just started working here a few months ago, and it’s become my mission to let people know that safe solutions for fleas and ticks are available!

Beneficial nematodes are part of nature’s solution to this menacing problem.  Beneficial nematodes are microscopic, non-segmented roundworms that occur naturally in soil throughout the world. Inside the nematode’s gut are symbiotic bacteria that, when released inside an insect, kill it within 24-48 hours. Beneficial Nematodes work remarkably well for flea and tick control, in addition to providing control for many other pests as well.

Perhaps what excited me most was how easy they are to apply: simply mix the clay solution with water and spray the area to be treated. In addition, they are completely safe for humans and animals—Truly a BENEFICIAL organism! I wish I had known about nematodes 20 years ago!
