| Starter Size: Approximately 1,500 Ladybugs - Treats up to 800 sq ft. Ladybugs are the most widely used beneficial insects! Extremely cost effective, too! Control Uses: These voracious predators feed on aphids, chinch bugs, asparagus beetle larvae, thrips, alfalfa weevils, bean thrips, grape root worms, Colorado potato beetle larvae, whitefly, and mites, as well as many other soft-bodied insects and eggs. Method of shipment, biology and release rates: Ladybugs are shipped to you in the adult stage. Each adult consumes about 5,000 aphids. Within 8 to 10 days of release, each female ladybug lays 10-50 eggs daily on the underside of leaves. In 2-5 days the larvae emerge as dark alligator-like flightless creatures with orange spots. The larvae eat 50-60 aphids per day. After 21 days they pupate and adults emerge in 2-5 days, completing the cycle. Under ideal conditions (temperature 61-82° F; ladybugs won’t fly when 55° F or lower) several generations may be produced. If not released immediately, you may store ladybugs for 1-3 weeks at 35-45° F. Number of ladybugs per shipment is approximate.
NOTE: Because ladybugs are collected in the wild, availability is subject to Nature's whim. Extra ladybugs are shipped with each order to account for mortality. - By P Fialcowitz on Feb 29, 2012
Although they took 2 days longer than expected to arrive, the ladybugs were all alive and active and hungry when they got here! Great job! Thank you!
No more white flies
- By Mark Baxter on May 6, 2011
We had Gardenias that were at risk of dying from a white fly infestation. I set the 1500 ladybugs loose on the ground below the gardenias AND WITHIN A WEEK, NO MORE WHITE FLIES.

I ordered ladybugs for my daughter's birthday party. The included instructions were simple and easy. The kids loved analyzing the bugs and then letting them loose in their gardens.
Best prices & worked great
- By Eva on May 29, 2011
Received the order in a very timely manner. The directions were followed by spraying water on the plants for them to drink when they were released. They were really thirsty and the instant the ladybugs were out I saw them start eating away at the aphids in the greenhouse. It was amazing to watch them go to work so soon. Very happy that it worked. Thanks

Although I was a bad mama and my ladybugs chose a different place to live, they arrived quickly, were alive and had very detailed instructions for releasing them.... that I did not follow very well :(
They're helping
- By Marjorie C on Jul 23, 2011
The ladybugs arrived in good health(alive), with good instructions on how to use them. They are helping to control the aphids on my honeysuckle, and even though most of them left, they left some larvae behind. Improvements weren't drastic, but they seem to be slowly improving.
Healthiest Ladybugs I received this year
- By Nancy G. on Jul 29, 2011
I ordered ladybugs from two suppliers this year. My order of ladybugs from the other supplier was DOA; their replacement sent over a month later had only 10% alive on arrival. My order from Arbico was on time and HEALTHY--next year I will order all my ladybugs from Arbico.

Lively Ladybugs
- By Steve S on Aug 26, 2011
Ladybugs arrived within a few days via Fedex. Only a few not alive. I followed the included directions and gave them a little water and then released about 1/2 the next morning when it was cooler. I put the rest away for a week then released them. A dramatic decrease in aphid activity in my Crape Myrtles/

Quite happy with the condition and quantity of the Ladybug shipment just received - most actually stayed around and kept my plants clean for several days. Will order again in the future...
One Happy Customer
- By Mike C. on Apr 5, 2012
Order arrived on time and in excellent condition. With anything live that is shipped you have to allow for casualties and I was very surprised that there we're only a few. Growing season has just begun here and so far have had almost 100% pest containment rate and happily without the use of pesticides. Thanks Arbico!
Very Happy

Preschool and Ladybug Release
- By Sheila on May 21, 2012
The ladybugs were beautiful. We did a release with our preschool children. Dressed in lady bug hats, lady bug shirts and even faces painted like lady bugs, the children were thrilled. Our lessons focused on the importance of the lady bug to our environment. Finding them in the grass after the release was more exciting than the egg hunt.
Pretty good, did their job
- By Jenn P. on May 19, 2012
I released the ladybugs into the garden as instructed, but ended up having to use the whole pack. I wanted to use half but after removing them from the fridge, opening and attempting to dump ou half, they warmed up & woke up too quickly to where I couldn't close the bag, they were all crawling out. Many left but many stayed a few days. Once the aphid problem was taken care of, we see only a few here and there in the garden. They did their job, I just wish I could've gotten them to stay more permanently. I used the ladybug "food" spray but it didn't keep them around once they got rid of my aphids.
