MealybugMealybugs use their sucking mouthparts to feed on host plants, weakening the plants causing leaf distortion, yellowing, and leaf loss. Mealybugs are segmented insects with pinkish bodies that are covered by a white waxy fluff. As they diminish a plant’s health, the plant may also become more susceptible to other diseases and insect infestations.
There are many different species of mealybugs and they have a wide range of host plants. Mealybugs are immune to most insecticides, but beneficial insects and parasites are considered the best long-term solution for infestations.
