Pheromone Insect Lures, Traps & Trap Kits

Pheromone Insect Lures, Traps & Trap Kits

Pheromone traps utilize "bug hormones" or scents that stimulate the type of scent produced by the female insect to "seduce" or lure their male counterparts. Males lured into traps are prevented from mating. These traps assist the grower in determining the mating activity of the insect pest by counting insects trapped over a period of time. This information will enable a sound decision to be made regarding the timing for the release of beneficial insects and the use of organic repellants and insecticides to knock down large pest populations. All pheromone traps come complete and ready for use. Extra lures, baits, and sticky bottoms are also available to enhance duration of trap usage or for use in subsequent pest outbreaks.

Other traps do not use a pheromone. Instead they use color and a sticky surface to lure and trap pests. These traps are also used for trapping to reduce the immediate pest population and also for monitoring purposes.

If you've never done this before it can be a little confusing. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy! Ask one of our consultants to assist you on which trap is best for your particular situation (1-800-827-2847).

By clicking on the insect lures below, you will have a choice of ordering the insect lures, made specifically for each insect, a trap kit that includes the pheromone lures or you may order just the recommended trap type for each particular insect without lures.

Pheromone products must be made to order and are shipped direct from the manufacturer. There will be an additional $25 handling fee added to your order.
