ArmywormArmyworm (Pseudaletia unipuncta) have three yellow stripes running down their back with a dark band on either side of the stripe and grow to a length of about 2 inches. They are the caterpillar life stage of a moth; the moth form is tan to gray-brown with a wingspan of 1 ˝ inches and a single white dot in the center of both forewings.
Armyworms feed on turf grasses and grains, and will eat a plant to the ground. They thrive in cool, wet weather, and feed at night, hiding just above the soil surface during the day. Keep armyworms in check with these natural products.
